as they will win yet another championship.

and don't give me crap about them not even being #1 in the big east last year, because i do recall them beating syracuse, twice! though people seem to forget that quite often.

and i heard rubbish about oklahoma being a better team!? HA! they LOSE quannas white and hollis price, and you call them the better team? (whoever said that).. give me a break!

uconn is #1 for a REASON. they have an amazing squad. villanueva going to uconn was a shock in itself, i never saw it coming. hopefully he stays more than one year, but at the rate he's playing now he won't be.

this team is stacked, and everyone can play.. not stacked in a bad way either. stacked as in they can lose their top 3 players in the draft this year, and still have a fantastic team next year, with denham brown, rashad anderson, and hilton armstrong leading the way.

but i must admit, the uconn walk-ons are god awful.. we did have that oklahoma game by 40+ the other night, until they came in and it became a 27 point victory, because someone forgot to guard andrew lavender.

who is a fantastic pg btw, i watched the 4 hs all american games he was in. he was amazing. i had him 3rd behind lebron and charlie.

    uconn in `04, no question.

in the next three weeks we have north carolina, pittsburgh and syracuse, this should be fun. i'm still trying to get tix to the pitt game the 19th and cuse the 2nd of feb! and big east tourney tix! [IMG]

    ok bye!

The number one ranked team seldomly wins the championship. The current Connecticut team has little tournament experience and will likely be brought down around the Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight, or Final Four by a team like Duke, Michigan State (want to argue about them making it? bring it), or Arizona.

True, true. But this year might be different. Might. The Huskies are a better team than they were last season, but I wouldn't go so far as to call them an odds-on favorite to win it all just yet. We'll have a much better idea of how things will go down when the tourney brackets come out. Until then, it's essentially a waste of time arguing about this. I don't think there's another Syracuse out there this year, but then again, who knows? College ball is so out of whack it's crazy, who would've thought Pitt would start out 17-0? And Michigan State 6-7? My pick - Carolina. They, as well as UCONN, have all the weapons needed to make a strong tournament run.

If you expect MSU to make the tournament this year, they'd better get it in gear and win some games! Who have they beat? Bucknell, Penn, DePaul, S. Florida and Coppin State!! - All in Lansing. They have played a difficult road schedule, but if they can't beat any decent non-conference teams either at home, or on the road, they're toast. Could've beat Kentucky, they blew it. Could've beat UCLA and Oklahoma, they blew those games too. Now the Big Ten schedule is heating up, which just means all of those teams will beat up on each-other. Michigan St. lost their season in those first 10-12 games. Any chance they have at making the tournament will have to come on the heels of a tremendous late-season run of 8 or 10 straight wins, which I strongly doubt will happen. I like MSU and Izzo, but this is just one of those years. It's beginning to remind me of last year's UCLA disaster.

yes.. but how many #1 ranked teams have the people the uconn huskies have this year? they just have an amazing squad.. sure they'll lose maybe 2-3 more times before the tournament comes around, and hopefully not in the big east tourney, and they'll drop a slot or maybe even a few.. and they'll gain it back.

little tournament experience? you don't need tournament experience.. once you have that experience, you're usually gone into the nba.. like what happened to caron butler.. when he took his game to another level in the tournament..

they always play tough in the tournament, no matter what the squad is.. especially in recent years.

michigan state won't make the final four.
let's just shut that down immediately.
at the rate they're going, loss after loss to every ranked team possible, and probably a few more losses to non ranked teams, they'll be lucky to even make the tournament! they haven't beaten a single soul this year! i know they're not the worst team, and i even gave them credit after their first couple ranked losses.. but 6?! c'mon.. well 6 isn't that bad.. if you have SOME victories to back it up, which they don't.

    mich. st. tourney.. maybe.
    final four.. absolutely not.

nice ucla comparison to msu though.

let's not forget the best player in all the land either.. [IMG]
