Man it mystifies me why the Hawks are so bad. Look at their roster and they have talent...talent to be better than they are right now. I think their problems are deep rooted within the management and maybe even the coaching staff and probably even some of the players because lets face it,losing can become a mentality...I wish someone would buy the Hawks..someone who will bring in a completely different attitude and the cheddar to change the team for the better. Just a complete house cleaning and some fresh perspective.

The problem with both teams are coaching staff.
The Hawks were sold recently along with the Thrashers to Atlanta Spirit LLC. They're apparently some type of local Atlanta corporation. Check this article I found from last September's Atlanta Business Chronicle - http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/stories...15/daily23.html The deal was finalized, I remember seeing the press conference. Hopefully they'll be able to turn things around in the ATL, Hawk fans havn't had much to be happy about since 'Nique left town. As I posted in an earlier thread, I think Doc Rivers would be a great hire for this team. What do you think?

What do you think?</div> I agree,Doc would be a good choice..he would be well received by the fans in Hotlanta, plus he plays a pleasing style of hoops. I thought Doc would be a good fit in the Apple too. But the sad thing is the Hawks, from my perspective, have enough talent to compete right now..especially in the East. They may not win a title with these cats but they can compete IMO. Let's hope the new owners can and will do what it takes to turn the Hawks around. Its a shame to lets this franchise go down the drain like this,I hope those guys do what they say they are.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TimFlem:</div><div class="quote_post">I say the Lack of Fans is another problem the hawks have</div> Yea,but thats caused because they are a horrible team.
My contention in the draft was that the Hawks should have drafted Jarvis Hayes as part of their 'rebuilding' effort. He's a local guy and those ATL cats dig the local ballers. That would have been the first thing I would have done. I would have shipped out Jason Terry for a true point or a draft pick to get one and I would go from there.

It's gotta be the coaching...they should have a decent team, especially in the east...abdur-rahim and terry are two 20+ ppg scorers while Jackson is a nice fit as a third scorer...they've got youth too...they just need a decent coach...
