<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dj_premium_plus:</div><div class="quote_post">i think im looking from an objective point of view...im voicing my opinion based on the people i know and have talked to, not on what iv read on the almighty internet, and chat rooms! LOL! yeaaa! thats the place to talk to all the real fans chat rooms! big up

vince carter fans are different from bball/raptor fans...thats been my experience. continue to generalize all you want, your opinion isnt more valid because you spend more time on the internet then i do</div>

I would of thought you would of got the hint by now that You were dead wrong when people basically have said the same thing about the high and mighty Vince Carter. He is having an average season.

So you are basing your opinion purely on who you have talked to and who you know? hmmm...Sounds exactly the same as I've have done.Mentioning message boards, chat rooms was an example of what everyone else feels.I have talked to a few writers, people who work for a few franchises and they basically say the same thing.

Just give it up,you are not getting anywhere with your points,If I can call them that. They aren't valid....

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Big Nasty:</div><div class="quote_post">well bub,for your information..i was talking about people I talk with everyday on the telephone and people I see at least once a month..so don't you generalize that all of use base our opinions of the net. [IMG]</div>

my post was actually more meant to allnet, i should have quoted.

but either way...dont let the people you talk to distort your view on raptor fans. there are plenty of us that arent vince carter hoe's

Brah, what you are failing to see..the way you are defending Vince..even though,by his standards,he isn't having a good year that you are acting just like everyone else. Look at some of your statements previously...you are very biased toward VC. Saying he's having a great year and taking over games like before when he's not doing it...AT ALL..like everyone here has stated your 'unbiased' opinions are indeed the 'biased' opinions of a VC groupie.

^^ hes right....you are clearly contridicting yourself...

Edit: I was referring to what Big Nasty said...

and from the RAPTOR fans i know...its not all about Vince ALL the time...its a mixture of Jalens horrible shot selection, to KO's frequency of subbing out VC to Alvin Williams taking more shots in a game then Vince once in a while...

Vince carter has not been the same since the midway of the 2001-2002 season. End of story. You can say that Vince is having a "great" year this year, but it is plenty short of what he is CAPABLE of doing...

His ROOKIE year was almost better then this...he's in his 6th season now...its now or never...Either he rises now or falls...

But one thing though...never count out the playoffs...thats when the true superstars step up...and Vince has been consistent in the P-Offs (atleast 3 years ago)

Basically, from what I see and people I talk to (I'm from the GTA), 1 in 5 Raptors fan are more of VINCE fans....i know people who are sad Vince isnt engaged to them or when Vince gets 15 pts, they still think he had a good name....

but, thats not all VC fans...the VC dick-ryders are those who claim Vince is better then T-Mac or Kobe or something...thats just straight stupid

i am NOT a vince groupie though, i think hes a good player, i dont think hes in the top 10 calibre, but i think hes deserving of an all-star apearance...mostly because fans want to see him there, but also because im a little bias, but also because i think hes been having a good year. maybe i was a little over-zealous, and not a GREAT year, but a good year, hes hit a rough patch the past few games, as a raptor fan, i hope he turns it around. if you dont think hes even having a "good" year, then your a little biased against him.

This could be a converation if you were make any sense at all,but sadly you aren't.When you have other people in this thread disagreeing with you, there is no reason why you shouldn't get the hint.

You aren't making valid points, you have basically disagreed that calling some Raptors fans groupies is un-called for but then turn it around stating "i dont need to know every raptor fan to know that the people you are describing arent real ball fans, just vince carter fans"

If who I'm describing aren't real basketball fans then the overall amount of fans the Raptors have would in total be about.........

what? how am i contradicting myself?

i fully agree that vince is capable of more though...i hope i get to see him realize his potential, dont you?

and enough about the vince fan/raptor fans. people who LOVE vince carter and dont know a thing else about ball dont qualify as raptor fans...the people i know and have talked to KNOW basketball, not just the windmill dunk [IMG] im talkin about basketball fans who have the raps as their team.

I'm not at all biased against Vince. I like the cat alot. No one hopes he regains his previous form more than me..but lets face it,Vince is mediocre now..for whatever reason he just doesn't have the same skill he had before, and if he does he isn't using it at all just having a look at VC's stats will tell you that.

sorry, but only someone like yourself would feel embarassed because a couple of people disagree with how you feel on the internet. the only thing im embarrased for is you, thinking i actually care that much. again, it was a fine conversation untill you had to come in with your high and mighty attitude trying to put me down, because you and a couple others disagree.

if you cant make sense of my posts, then i suggest you go back to school or something, iv made perfect sense, but if trying to cut me up on here is whats making you feel better about yourself, then continue, i couldnt care less.

i never said its uncalled for to call raptor fans groupies, im saying that any TRUE raptor fan, isnt one of these vince groupies that you have described. i guess that part was beyond you, not surprising.

I think what he's trying to impart on you,is that despite what you say you have yet to distinguish yourself from these 'true' fans you say are out there. You say one thing then completely contradict yourself.

personally i think that a few years ago, vince had everyone in such awe because of his raw athletic ability, it over-shadowed the low percentage shots he was taking. he was still taking some of those ugly runners and fade away jumpers against smaller players that he takes now...but now people have started analyzing all of his game rather then talking about how amazing he is when really he was never amazing, just the raw athletic aspect of his game is. call me bias if thats what i am...i just think hes better then mediocre. mediocre to me is someone like cuttino mobley, not someone in the top 10 scoring

the difference between a true raptor fan (like myself) is that id welcome a vince trade if the team needed it. if we were a lottery team again this year, id be calling for vince's head. i dont think vince is the best player in the universe, i think hes a good player. im hardly a vince groupie, i get pissed off with him in a lot of games...take a trip to the raptors forum and take a look at my post about him in the raps @ pistons game thread. iv been watching bball since i was a little kid, im a real basketball fan, not one of the toronto band wagon vince carter groupies. if i havnt distinguished myself from the groupies based on what iv been posting, maybe i havnt been making myself clear enough on some issues, maybe some of you have just misunderstood what i meant. hard to say, its easy to misconstrue intent on the net

I've got to have a laugh somewhere in this thread,It needed to happen. It is fair to call some or plenty of Raptors fans groupies. As thats all I see everywhere I look.Clearly there will be quite a few real fans AS I ALREADY STATED...It's funny that you say you don't care that much, that is clearly not the case or you wouldn't of moaned about my comments in the first place.

If you want to continue this disussion in a calm manner then feel free to do so.

He was taking low-percentage shots before??? What in the heck is he doing this year?? His FG% is alot lower than before....if what you say is true he's not taking those 'low percentage' shots anymore he's just missing alot of the 'high-percentage' ones.

nah he meant...3 years ago, VC's shot percentage was overshadowed by his athletism....but now that his athlethic-ness has declined or he chooses not to be as flashy/dominant (atleast it looks that way), the same shots he was taking 3 years ago are finally being noticed and analyzed instead of noticed and ignored...

Definitely true, he outdid himself too often, the injury changed him. I myself like him better this way, he's far more contributing to other members of the team and not trying to be the best or the leader. Just playing straight out ball, playing intelligently infact, conserving what little he has left and trying to make the best out of it for his team.

lmao! man, im having a hard time keeping up, having 3 discussions at once...

allnet - i dont care, i dont need to explain to you why im posting, but if you think its because i care what you or anyone else thinks, good for you. and i am calm, i always have been, but good work on making another assumption. maybe i would always have seemed calm if you haddnt come at me with condasending attitude and just carried on a normal conversation like iv been trying to do throughout. im done thats not what im here to talk about, regardless if my opinion is "wrong" or not, you dont have to try and cut me or anyone else up, plus it sets a bad example as a mod. you should know that

-big nasty- i know hes taking low percentage shots...thats exactly my point. i think you misunderstood me there
