As alot ya'll might have seen I got real jones for the old school cats. Nothin' I love more than the cats I grew up watchin' and the cats my dad would tell me about. But bein' older than alot of people here I've had the chance to see alot the players ya'll consider 'old school'....so my question to you is who is a player or team from the past...that you would most like to read about? It can be anyone..just let me know and I'll do my best to hook ya up.

The stuff I got on tap:

    Lloyd Daniels*
    Xavier McDaniel
    1990 UNLV Runnin' Rebels*
    '77-'78 Washington Bullets
    Kiki Vandeweghe*

*(These are complete I just have to proof read and make sure I like it) [IMG]

Things I'll start workin' on ASAP

    Bernard King
    Michael Ray Richardson
    Reggie Lewis
    Bob McAdoo
    Reggie Theus
    Calvin Murphy
    Jack Sikma
    Dennis Johnson
    Bill Laimbeer
    Isaiah Thomas
    George Gervin
    Brad Daugherty
    Orlando Woolridge
    Walter Davis
    Gail Goodrich
    Dolph Schayes
    George Mikan

To the other ones suggested I'm not ignorin' 'em..I'm just postin' up the ones I know I have knowledge of and access to plenty of other stuff about 'em..I'll just have to do some diggin' around in my resources for them. [IMG]

Okay...how bout Norm Nixon...he's an L.A. guy. You think he's gonna get into the HOF?? I think he's borderline, but probably not....(From what I've heard)

How about Brad Daugherty, Orlando Woolridge, Walter Davis, Kevin Porter, and Gail Goodrich? These are five old school cats who got very little in terms of props, but all were very good, if not great players.

Daugherty was one of the top centers of the peak of his career, was even all-NBA as a center in the era of Robinson, Olajuwon and Ewing.

Woolridge was Jordan's best 2nd fiddle until Pip and played on some great teams.

Davis was the best shooting guard to come out of carolina till Jordan, and edged Nard for ROY, while also dealing with some serious personal problems.

Porter was one of the best assist men ever, and was the best pistons guard between Bing and Isiah.

Goodrich was the most underrated superstar on the Lakers of the 70's, getting less attention than teammates like Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Wilt and Kareem.

Good ideas Starman, all of those guys were very underrated in terms of contributing to their teams' success. Daugherty could have been a hall of famer if he didn't end up with all of those injuries.

I'd also like to see something on a guy like Reggie Theus, or maybe going even further back, Bob Lanier. Big Bob was a great center who nearly became a member of the exclusive 20,000 point - 10,000 rebound club for his career. There are so many more that you could be writing for days!! I'll just give you those two for now... [IMG]

I always thought the quiet and mild mannered Joe Dumars wasn't recognized all that much, and DJ.

BN, I'm gonna do a piece on Fat Lever; one of the most criminally underrated players the game has seen (almost averaged a TD for 5 straight years, averaged over 9 boards a game for 2 straight years which is phenomenal for a guy standing 6'3 and 170).

Yeah, Fat was great on those run 'n gun Denver teams of the 80's. A lot of those guys never got the recognition they deserved - Alex English of course was a great scorer, and Michael Adams had a pretty nice 4 or 5 year stretch there averaging 27 pts and 10 assists one season! And of course the ever-lovable Doug Moe, who could forget those plaid sport coats?!?

"My only rule is that you have to dress better than me to be acceptable."
--Doug Moe, a bad dresser, on his team's lax dress code.
