Lenny hasn't shown he can win these days By Marc Stein Age is not the issue. Really. That's not my resistance to Lenny Wilkens, because the sixtysomething set represents the best of NBA coaching. My problem: The coach with the most wins in league history already has proven that he can win no more. Sorry. There's no way the New York Knicks can present Wilkens, at 66, as their answer to Memphis bringing back Hubie Brown, or the Florida Marlins turning to Jack McKeon, or the Washington Redskins resurrecting Joe Gibbs. Brooklyn native? Yes. Returning sage? Back from oblivion to impart his wisdom on a foundering franchise? No. Not Lenny. Link
I don't like him for the Knicks too. If I'm not mistaken, he's also the coach with the most losses. Plus, he's too laid back for the job.
I think you have to give him a chance. He is the Knicks coach to try & bring the best out of Steph. If he cant help Steph reached his full capability, the Knicks will be on of the harder teams in the east to beat. Its not going to be an instant fix. but it might work out for the best for the knicks.
Maybe this is what Zeke really wants. A passive coach, and everyone knows Lenny is very passive,so he can have almost complete control over everything Knicks.
