I've been waiting for this to happen all year! Although for the sake of the NBA and Toronto I wish it's no big deal.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting The Prophecy:</div><div class="quote_post">Vince injured? I cant believe it!</div> You're kidding right? Are you really in shock or saying it as an act of sarcasm.
how bout we wait to see the severity of the injury before everyone starts to come in here with "i told you so" however if he is badly hurt, i take back everything i said about him in the other thread
He's hurt.... again... Has he ever been through an entire season without getting hurt? He only played 7 minutes tonight, too.
It didn't look TOO serious, usually you would see Vince screaming and yelling on the floor, and then being carried out by two other people to the locker room.
Vince has a strained right QUAD, good thing it isn't directly in his knee, so it shouldn't be too serious. I think when he got up he was even thinking of staying in the game because thats what Chuck said, instead he went to the locker room. I'll be suprised if its that serious, my guess would be day-to-day but I'm not sure. Heres something from the raptors home page: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Toronto Wins in Overtime After Losing Carter The Raptors left New Orleans on Thursday with a hard-fought 78-74 OT win over the Hornets, and they did so without Vince Carter for most of the way. Carter fell after a first-quarter dunk try and was down for about five minutes before leaving with what appeared to be a strained right quadriceps, according to trainer Chuck Mooney.</div> www.raptors.com
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Crossover:</div><div class="quote_post">We all always anticipate his inevitable injury sometime during the season.</div> I have a feeling this won't be his last injury this season either...
Guard/Forward - Vince Carter ,Toronto : Placed on 15 day IL with severe stubbed toe when he fell while dancing at local club. Film at 11.
When i saw him falling down like that i was like no that cant be true. I prayed all the time today, hope it wont be too serious ....
You guys all act like it's Vince's fault, or as if it is a character flaw of Vince's for him to be hurt. Any player that plays a substantial amount of time every game is bound to get beat up. Look at TMac and his back, Steve Nash and his back/hip, Shaq and his toe/calf. It's just a part of the game. Some people are so quick to get on here and start posts after the first game of the season saying things like "Vince is back" , but then when he wears down all you hear is "I told you so". Seriously, he is listed as day to day with a quad strain. I would suspect that the MRI will show no structural damage. He'll probably rest it for a game, and then come back. This could be a good thing if there is no structural damage. It might help Vince to realize that the structural stability of his knee is there and this injury is simply the result of playing so many minutes. This could boost his confidence and maybe he will return more aggressive. I guess time will tell.
Who said they thought it was Vince's fault? He's just a "fragile" player (see: Marcus Camby) and gets hurt often.
i totally agree with jenike. But yeah, who said that it was vince s fault? No one would ever be true with this kinda statement, is it your fault when you hurt yourself by accident when you wanted to do a cool dunk?
i cant believe vince is being compared to marcus camby...he missed 39 games last season, and 20+ games the year before that...other then that, hes hardly been injured. it was just two seasons in a row. camby hasnt ever played a full season, hes nothing like camby
