ORLANDO, Fla. -- Boston Celtics forward Vin Baker played Friday night for the first time since he was suspended for failing to comply with the conditions of his aftercare program.

The four-time All Star was suspended for three games on Jan. 6, then didn't play in the two games following his return.

I actually thought he was going to be a solid player this year. Its sad to hear of someone fall off the wagon for another time, hopefully he can shed his addiction.

Definitely, sports can always be so tragic. Death, addictions, basketball's just like real life man, we have to face, we're faulty, we're human. He could end up as bad as Juwan Howard or Shawn Kemp at this rate....

The Celtics have had lots of tragedy, Len Bias, Reggie Lewis, Pierce, etc. It looks like Baker could be the latest to add to this list

He's the second player to go downhill after leaving the Sonics (Kemp being the first). I believe he was an allstar while on our team, so much talent, and he put so much effort into losing weight.

He obviously knows how hard it is to get back in shape, because he did it once. Why throw all that hard work away?

I think that Vin Baker went downhill after he went to the Sonics, not after he left. I would have released Baker already if it was my choice. In my opinion, he is a terrible power forward who doesn't deserve what he has.

It sucks that these guys are in the position they're in to make big bucks and life the life most of us dream about, yet they can't get thier act together. It's sad.
