Everyone has heard of him....he's a popular name in the draft

He entered last years draft, and his stock went through the roof. He was like 7'5'', and 300+ lbs and 19 years old. It turns out he had a pituitary gland problem that made him grow like crazy. He didn't want to grow any further so he ended up pulling out of the draft, getting his pituitary gland fixed, and working on his game.

He is supposedly really raw, with absolutely very little skill. He's just really big, and he moves really well despite his size. He just needs to be taught the game. He has a world of potiential, but it will take years for him to become an impact player.

I'm picturing a bigger (a lot bigger), less skilled (yes, even less skilled) Olowakandi...

edit: btw, he pulled his name out of the last years draft because he wanted to improve his draft status...He wanted to be top 3, and it was projected he would've went 8-12 last year i believe

Yeah some GM's would have bit early had he been healthy, I think without question he would have been drafted as early as 6th, who knows, maybe earlier.

I seen some pieces on ESPN and Notmuch is right, he doe move around faster than one would assume.

He really needs to get healthy and show some moves in workouts. Still top this year easily I would guess.

Rah. The Knicks were considering picking him in last year's draft until he pulled out.

Everyone wanted him last season because of his size and potential. I'm thinking he'd be a modern day Gheroge Muresan or Manute Bol.

Podkozlzine is a 7'5" version of Mengke Bateer -- some GM will be fooled into taking him though

    Remember Gheorghe Muresan?

I think he might surprise everyone and pull though to be a decent player some day.

I think gheorge or manute is way too thin for Pavel "the bear"... he's like Shaq... before all the scrimmages, he was seen as a second rounder strictly due to his size, well after those GMs saw his skill and big talent, they drooled and some projected him to be picked as high as #5 (i bet dwyane was looking like he got screwed from the top five) they said he could be as dominating as Shaq in years to come. These guys (Gheorge and Manute) were never dominating big men, they're just tall.... Pavel might be an all star three years from now.

Mengke is one stiff Great Wall (no offense, Menk)... but pls man I don't think GMs were so blind to project him as high as pick #5 to get someone as talented as Mengke only (no offense, Menk)? And this assessment was made June last year... when he comes back from Italy or whatever league Pavel is playing now, he's gonna get better and possibly (if next year) challenges Dwight Howard or Emeka for the top pick.
