<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The book on Joe Johnson has always been that if he ever found some intangible qualities (confidence, assertiveness) to go with his obvious physical skills he would morph into an All Star-caliber player before our very eyes.</div> http://www.nba.com/suns/news/gilmartin_040116.html
I have noted JJ's consistency over the last couple weeks here before. The only bad game he has had was the four point effort to the Nuggets a couple nights ago. Other than that he has been getting in the high-teens in points with his usual all-around game. This has been very nice for the Suns, especially the past two games where they have had three people score twenty points in each (of course the usual suspects in Amare and Marion). AZ, that JJ can't do it be himself club is going to be lonely because people know that he doesn't do it by himself with Amare and Marion there
Well the game against the Nuggs he was playing with the flu...As for the club I started it before the Suns have had great perfomences by Amare, Shawn, and the rest of the bench.
Since the trade to get him I have NEVER been high on JJ... I go to Suns games just to yell "Pass the ball Joe!!" and when he shoots it, my friends and I yell "JOE, NO!!" -- ESPN even made the comment, "Joe Johnson doing what Joe Johnson does... missing!" which sums it up nicely. But lately and especially since the Marbury trade, Joe has shown me he has some handles I've never seen from him, and if he wouldn't be so quick to drive (odd, cause I'm always yelling TO drive, but he loses the ball too much when he does) and learns the point a little better, Joe could be a really good ball handler. I like the backcourt of Joe and Barbosa, it's pretty exciting watching them play, Barbosa is a theif and can straight out fly down the floor, I see him as a smaller Clyde Drexler, and Joe does have good handles. His best stat is, in January he averages 40.9 minutes/game, yet only turns it over 1.9 time per. In his previous 2 months he averaged 37.3 min. and turned it over 2.3 times per... more minutes and less turnovers make me happy  He's also shooting above 40% this month... I hope Joe has turned a corner, maybe this trade gave him some confidence knowing Penny's not behind/in front of him anymore (which is exactly what Bryan Colangelo said after the trade... damnit he was right!!)
