Other than the ten point effort in his comeback game (which he only played 19 minutes anyway), Amare has been a beast. He has scored three straight twenty point games, including a 28 point night against Denver. Do you think he has come back from his ankle injury better, or do you think he just would've hit this type of stride earlier in the season anyway? I think getting rid of Marbury has something to do with this. There have been rumors that their chemistry together just wasn't there, and now that he's gone he has hit some sort of stride that hopefully keeps up.

Definitely agree with you there, but he's undoubtly shown great strength and effort all the time anyway. I've always been attracted to his defense and strenghth, it seems to me that he's become quite the offensive force. I myself see him as one of those players who won't let an injury affect them too much or keep them down.

I think he came back better. I also think the Marbury trade had something to do with it also. But that's just me.

I really thought I was the only guy noticing Amare, but this dude is a beast for real. He's going to go far I tell ya. Far! His awareness is key, and his moves downlow are vicious

I really love this guy hence he's my fav. player

Since his return his points are up but rebs are down, but imo he's still gaining confidence for hustling for the boards and now that Marbury is gone he will get more shots too,in few years he will be a force to reckon. If Phoenix gets back on track next year then you will notice that Amare is a big part of the Suns success.

I was going to say that :P yes he is scoring more, and that 15 foot shot is a killer right now. He's learning to step out and show people he does have range, one day when they finally respect that, we'll see some explosive drives with amazing dunks... until then we can see the pretty 15 footer (although his shot is a bit ackward) -- but I agree his rebounding and defense is horrible compared to before the injury. Not saying the injury had anything to do with it, just saying the obvious... against Portland and GS I noticed Amare not rotate on many screens, and Barbosa talked to him many times gesturing to pick up his man when he gets screened, but Amare pretty much stood around on defense.

When he gets back into things I think he can average 15 rebounds a game and a ton of blocks... Amare is in the Garnett mold and needs to prove it with some good plays on defense, even if they DON'T appear in the box score; something as simple as switching on screens and rotating to the weak side of the court when the other team trys to get an open shot during the Suns zone. You can't blame it on him being young because last year and early this year he played good defense and I rarely saw him "Randy Moss" it, but these last 2 games I think he's either been thinking about scoring, or just getting tired (lots of minutes).

The 6 steals certainly were surprising, but soon that should just be expected... Garnett averages over a steal a game, as should Amare one year soon.
