The officials see ten times more than you see. They also know the rules a tad bit better. I trust their judgement over anyone else's. Afterall, to be an official you can't be biased, but pretty much everyone else watching the game is.
Man,it's always bad officiating when it's a close game and never props to the opposing team..it's never 'the better team won
Nicely put Wave. With UConn losing, it will be interesting to see the polls come Monday. My guess is either Duke or perhaps Stanford, seeing as how they did not lose this past week, possibly being #1.
Shame I missed this one,Duke beating Wake means they are a lock to become the new number 1 UNC have a very strong starting 5,maybe the best overall talent in the nation.Uconn were bound to lose sooner or later,It's tough to win in Carolina.which proved to be the case tonight. Looks to me like Ben Gordon really struggled tonight, which was the difference.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting franchise3:</div><div class="quote_post">With his performance, Rashad Maccants can even go ahead of Felton in this year's draft.</div> No. No, he can't. It takes more than one performance to make a season, and much more to make a draft prospectus, and Felton has proven time and again to be more NBA-ready than McCants, at least in terms of his ability to play his respective position in the L. I don't doubt that McCants can play, and I'm a huge Carolina fan, but McCants is the least of the three prospects out of Carolina's sophomore Big Three. I'm mad that I missed this game too. I was out of town, and on the road as the game was being played. I was staying with a bunch of non-bball fans, wouldn't even let me watch the Lakers-Kings on Friday, but anyways... This game should impact the standings, but much more so for UCONN than UNC. Since UNC lost to Maryland, they shouldn't be too much higher or lower than before, but watch for UCONN to drop 2-3 spots.
Felton would go ahead of McCants in the draft, but I really hope McCants stays. With May and Felton leaving, McCants will have to take over the reins to the team. Go Heels. Good win over UCONN, it was awesome to watch.

If you use the officials excuse for your lost you can look no further than the stat sheet to see why you lose the game and I guarentee it was not the officials. You lose a close game usually on free throws, foul trouble and turnovers. You never lose a game because of the officials.
I think basketball officials are the best refs in any sport... Its alot easier to call than football.. I like UConn myself, but they got beat.. UNC was better and it wasnt the refs fault.. Haha it wont matter now though.. It won't hurt UConn at all.. They have a dominating team..
i'm not even blaming UCONN's loss on the officiating.. <strike>what the ****, you people can't read?</strike> i'm just saying the refs made terrible calls.. for uconn, and for the tarheels.. they weren't lopsided, neither one got a benefit.. both teams got shafted.. where is the excuse that the officiating is why they lost? did i not admit to it being a good game? HELLO? no where did i blame the game on the officials.. i just said they made bad calls (BOTH WAYS). <strike>you people pick and choose what you want to see</strike>, as soon as you saw the word "officials" in my post, you jumped all over it. <font color="Blue">No personal attacks, Wave</font>
I dont think you stated clearly that it was both ways... Now the post says it.. But Truthfully I missed that if you had it there before.. If not you have to be state it more clear..
Okaforever, I never said that you blamed the loss on the officials. I said the excuse bugged me, and then I went on to say that the officials saw more than you did so you had no room to comment. Nowhere in my post did I say, "You thought the officials cost them the game."

UNC had a great player coming in next year that will bring them great success next year....his name is J.R. Smith. Great defense, big build, 6'6....can jump out of the gym...he goes to St. Benedict's and i saw him play yesterday(Jan. 19). He is ultimately Rashad McCants times 2. He can do a lot and has amazing range.
