<div class="quote_poster">Quoting scorbutic:</div><div class="quote_post">First off I'm not a Lakers hater... I just think it's stupid to say THIS team is good... you guys are arguing with ALLNET, and I just made a statement 99% of people who know basketball would say. I know you've got to back up your team, but catch up with reality. The Lakers are the BEST team in the league while Webber is out... I'm not saying the Suns are better than the real Lakers, but they ARE better than THESE Lakers.</div>

How do you know their better than THESE Lakers when THESE Lakers haven't even played the Suns yet? Also, how do you know the Kings are better than the Lakers? Is that a fact?

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Check a newspaper the Suns have beat Portland, Golden State, and Portland in a row... hmm... that's 1, 2, 3, yup that's 3!! Where do you get 2 from? You forget they beat Portland a few hours ago?</div>

Well now that's 3, wow the Suns have beaten 2 teams(3 wins) who are under .500!! Congrats!!!

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't know... what was Phreeze trying to prove by naming the teams LA has beaten? I was just playing the LA game of naming off teams your team has beaten... he said Phoenix couldn't beat teams they have beaten, and I named teams LA didn't beat that the Suns have.</div>

He obviously named the twams who we beat because he was showing you that THESE Lakers can still win games despite the big injuries.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">You name teams the Lakers have beaten, it's fine. I name teams, I'm being irrational. You defend the Lakers, 'tis okay. I say the Lakers are injured and the Suns will win, and I don't know anything about basketball? I know I'm in foreign territory here (Lakers forum) so I'm going to be attacked which is fine, but don't misunderstand me. Lakers are good, THESE Lakers would have the #1 pick in the draft if they played with this roster for 82 games. You guys are being blind die-hards... but don't worry Shaq, Kobe, and Malone will be back soon and you can claim you were right even though I never said the Suns could beat THOSE Lakers... only THESE!!</div>

Nope, it was much more than 'Suns will win, because Lakers are injured', that isn't the reason I made the "you don't know much about basketball statement", because if you put it in those words, we wouldn't be arguing right now.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">But I'm stupid and don't know anything... I can't believe I stated that a team with an all-star in his prime and rookie of the year could beat a team with 3 of its best players injured.</div>

Nope, your stupid because(basketball knowledge that is [IMG]) you come in here and insult the Lakers in the Laker forum, calling most Laker fans bandwagons, short-sighted, that we don't know 5 teams in the NBA, and that the Kings are 'automatically' better than the Lakers for some odd reason.

You don't hate on the Lakers right? But you will call us bandwagons, that were not a good team when anyone can clearly see we are getting by nicely without our superstars, and that the Kings are automatically the best team in the league, I love the irony. :P

I think my 12 point win on the prediction got you all worked up.

Now, if you want to talk about the Lakers and Suns, you can PM me or AIM. This is a preview of the game, and a prediction thread. If you have nothing better to add to the topic, then be gone!

bustedryde, since when am I being a BLIND DIE-HARD? Did I say the Suns would win the Championship? No. I just commented that I THINK the healthy Suns are going to beat the injured Lakers. That's when all these Band Wagon fans jumped on me telling me I'm an idiot and don't know anything... yet if the Spurs, Wolves or Kings lost 3 of their best players, you guys would be saying the same thing.
    </div>
BLIND DIE HARD: Calling Lakers fans bandwagon fans, not thinking Phoenix has any talent, so short-sighted we can't name 5 teams, saying we haven't seen anything yet from Barbosa (because he actually doesn't have anything..he's Negle Knight all over again..3 good games and he's good? please), and saying second stringers "can't cut it"....

Hmm, 4 of 5 wins doesn't count, especially when a 1/3rd of the roster is depleted... [IMG] ....

Barbosa is your future PG? :thumbsdow

Amare and Marion are the only redeeming parts of this team. Again, I liken this team to the Clippers roster....having talent, but lacking an "X" factor...

Scorbutic,d o you really still base games on talent that much? The Suns aren't even that tallented right now without a real pointguard or center. They ofcourse are more talented than the current Lakers, who doesn't know that? I was one of those people who thought if a team didn't have talent they wont be able to win many games too. After watching the Jazz's first 20 games, I learned my lesson. now we're 40 games into the season, the Jazz are now without Harpring, and are still above .500, and you still say just because the Suns are more talented they will win? I'm not even going to waste any more time arguing with you, its just a waste of my time.

P.S. you might want to start thinking about what Purple N Gold is saying, he makes a lot of sense, and seems to know A LOT more about basketball than you. Good post Purple N Gold.

Amare Stoudemire, who scored 16 for Phoenix, left the game with 4:41 to play after reinjuring his left ankle on a soaring block of Ruben Patterson's fast-break dunk attempt. He did not make the team's trip to Los Angeles to play the Lakers on Monday night.
Patterson had blocked Stoudemire's stuff try moments earlier. Stoudemire, who missed 18 games with a high ankle sprain before coming back eight days ago, stayed on the bench the rest of the way.
He said afterward that although he didn't think the injury was serious, he would not be rushed back to the lineup.
"I can't let nobody force me to come back and tell me that it's OK when I know that it's not," he said. "I'm going to take my time and take it day to day, and go off my inner feeling."

    - Portland vs. Phoenix Game Recap from ESPN

Looks like the Suns won't have anyone dominant inside in this game either. I change my prediction to Lakers by 14.

First of all, I'd like to state that Scorbutic does not represent the majority of Suns fans and want to apoligize for him talking out of his a$$.
Secnodly, I do think the Suns are going to pull out an upset tommorow against the Lakers if they play the way they've played their last five games. Joe Johnson has picked up his game, Shawn Marion continues to put up all-star numbers, Leandro Barbosa is giving the team quality minutes and is quickly learning the game, and Amare keep impressing all and schooling veterans in the post (although regretably, he won't play Monday due to aggravation to a previous injury). The Suns players may not have been putting up monster numbers or been beating teams by large margins, but they've been doing all the little things that win games that don't show up in the stat sheets. If they had official stats, the Suns would lead in tipped passes, shot changed, hands in the face, etc., overall putting defensive pressure on the opposing team.
If the Suns can contain GP, and put a body on Medvedenko, they will pull out a slight victory. Either way, we can all agree we will pay close attention to this game.

PS. How many Lakers fans will attend the game? Will the game be shown on LA local broadcasts? Just wondering.

Yeah, we all know scorbutic don't represent Suns fans, he's just some idiot who thinks he knows everything and really is just dumb. I've seen a few posts hes made in the Suns board, all he can talk about is us Laker fans being "bandwagon fans" it seems like. Ahh well, looking forward to tomorrows game.

Band Wagon fans sure are funny... isn't it great how Chicago had all those fans in the 90s who were life-time fans for 20 years... now those same fans are Laker fans for 20+ years :P I'm sure some Laker fans are, but most ARE NOT!!

Band Wagon fans who think 2nd stringers are good are a joke... we'll see, we'll see.</div>

Hey, no offense (seriously), but you're wrong for accusing bustedryde of being a bandwagoner. That aint right man, and you know it, especially when he lives in orange county (20-30 minutes from L.A.). I aint trying to lecture, I'm just saying...

Unless the game is on ESPN, all their games are on local t.v. Since its a home game, it should air on Fox Sports West (or FSW 2, i forget)...road games air on KCAL 9

Just a fact...It's back-to-back games at staples tonite...The clippers played earlier, and now it's the lakers turn...wow, what a great job by the floor crew at staples.

Also, the channel 7 news showed Rick Fox working on his game...looks like it won't be long before he's back...his hair is crazy, it's really really long..

Lakers take this game by 5 points. The Suns may have a better lineup on paper, but it does not equate into victories. The Suns have played better with Amare back, but this team lacks consistency. The Lakers will take advantage of the Suns's mistakes tonight in the final quarter just like they did against 3 other inconsistent teams, Clippers, Cavs, and Nuggets. The Lakers are very confident at home, while the Suns have struggled with a 4-16 record away from Phoenix.

As for the comments about Laker fans being bandwagoners and the like. You might find it on other sites, but on this site the majority of us are very aware of the rest of the NBA. I've also been a Laker fan for 20+ years and stayed a fan even when they struggled during the Cedric Ceballos & Sedale Threatt years.

This game is more important to the Suns than the Lakers, and the pressure will be on them to pull off the upset. I don't think they are capable of doing it.

Suns lead after 1 quarter by 2 points. The Lakers are hot from downtown and have climbed back from a 10 point deficit early in the game. Bad news is Slava already has 2 personal fouls.

Yea how great Suns players are, Suns lineup and Laker lineup right now are both bench warmers not saying Marion and Payton are.......... but yea you can be leading by a lot, but Lakers are famous for toying with you for the first 3 quarters than coming back in the 4th quarter they have done it a lot of times and why not once more :-D

This is not the type of lineup Lakers would usually 'toy' someone with.

Lakers turned up the defense in the 2nd quarter and lead at the halfway point 47-41. Payton, Slava, Rush, and Russell all have 10 points each. Fisher and Payton are doing a great job of distributing the rock and 60% from 3point land for the Lakers has been the difference so far.

It looks like the laker reserves will have to play in a close game...it will be interesting to see how they react without Kobe to bail them out...

The Lakers had a terrible 3rd quarter. The Suns bench has, mainly, Eisley has been killing us. The Lakers just don't have an answer when Payton rests on the bench. It's a close game, but both teams are playing some ugly basketball. Devean George is playing with 0 confidence in this game and is shooting a miserable 0-8. Nice 4 point play by Fisher, but it's going to come down to the wire. I'm counting on Payton to win this for us.

To scorbutic ... Just wait and see. THESE Lakers are gona be great some time, SOME TIME not now, I agree. But they 've got the potential. And Lakers fans cant name 5 NBA Teams .... no comments about that, just a little bit short-sighted
