Why do the Rockets not give Scott Padgett consistant minutes? The last game the Rockets played Padgett didn't get any time at all, but the night before that he got seven points, twelve boards, and two assists in twenty-four minutes. The game before that Padgett did not play at all, but four games ago Padgett got eight points, three rebounds, and two assists in twelve minutes. Why do they not just move him into the rotation? It seems like he is getting the best out of the time he gets.
I agree, but its hard to find minutes for him when Cato and Taylor are playing the best ball of their careers. Hell, Clarence Weatherspoon is just as good, and he aint seen no minutes...it's just a matter of numbers...I like Padgett a lot- a smart player who is a strong rebounder and outside shooter...but I wouldnt rather have him in there than Cato or taylor...
I think Padgett is a better fit for the Rockets as a small forward than a power forward. I think they should pencil him in as the primary substitute for Jim Jackson, right now it's Pike or Nachbar.

I agree that Cato is playing the best basketball of his career, but Taylor is underachieving as always. I think the Rockets need to ship him off and open up the floor for Padgett and Weatherspoon who have about the same talent level as Taylor but more effort.
Really? I think Taylor is playing awesome...12 ppg/5 rpg off the bench are niiiice numbers...he's also shooting 48%, so his shot selection is nice...I think every Rockets loyalist will agree with me when I say Taylor is a better player than Padgett... Padgett is a nice 20-25 minute/game player who can shoot and get rebounds...he brings big men outside and also crashes the boards nicely...

I always thought Padgett was more of a Peja Stojakovic type player. Also 12ppg and 5 rpg are respectable 6th man numbers. The Rockets need Taylor bad as he is their only low-post presence besides Yao. And BTW, who's Harrington? I never knew Houston had a player called Harrington.
Yeah, Taylor seems?abetter player than Padgett. He's playing great ball right now too. So much ofa joy watching him.
Right now, there just isnt enough minutes to go around. You cannot take minutes away from Yao, Cato and Taylor right now. Yao is the franchise and we are a better team when he is on the court, plain and simple. Cato is a defensive beast who lays it all on the line every night. You reward a player like that with PT and he has sure earned it this year. Maurice Taylor is having one of his best years and is an instant contributor off the bench. He provides us with that instant "boost" that we need when he comes in the game. Padgett is a good basketball player however I do not seeing him getting any significant minutes. Yao, Cato, and Taylor are just too good for him to steal minutes from.
Padgett is very underrated, and is great in spot minutes...he is a valuable role player, and I hope he sees more minutes...I think he would play really well against Eastern Conference opponents...
