<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Bulls operations chief John Paxson is weighing an offer from the New York Knicks for guard Jamal Crawford, according to a league source. It's not certain whom the Knicks are offering, and the news is surprising considering New York's backcourt appears to be set with recently acquired point guard Stephon Marbury and shooting guard Allan Houston. Crawford can play either guard position. Paxson and Knicks operations chief Isiah Thomas discussed Crawford before Thomas traded for Marbury on Jan. 5, according to a source, who indicated Crawford's name has come up in discussions with other teams. Crawford, 23, is in his fourth year and will be a restricted free agent after this season, meaning the Bulls could match any offer. Crawford, who scored 20 points on 7-for-17 shooting Saturday against the Knicks, is the Bulls' leading scorer at 16.8 points a game and has carried the offensively challenged Bulls to victory on a couple of occasions with huge scoring nights. He scored 28 in a victory at New York on Jan. 2, and he scored 72 in back-to-back victories at Cleveland on Dec. 26 and against Washington the next night. After acquiring Marbury, Thomas mentioned Crawford as an elite guard in the NBA. ''If you expect to make the playoffs and compete for a championship, you've got to have an outstanding point guard like Jason Kidd, Jamal Crawford, Baron Davis, Steve Nash or Stephon Marbury,'' Thomas said. </div> Source I though the bold statement was quite funny.
I think Thomas is in love with the idea of having 2 point guards in his back court. And I wouldn't be suprised to see the bulls snag up Allan Houston to provide some consistant scoring for the bulls. Who would the bulls give up? doubt it would be a straight up trade. Both teams are heavy at the PF position. maybe see another team involved
