<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Denver Nuggets have Carmelo Anthony, one of the league's premier rookies and rising stars. But had the team fallen one spot in the draft to No. 4, team officials said they would have chosen the Heat's Dwyane Wade ahead of eventual No. 4 draft pick Chris Bosh. Wade was one of only a few players the Nuggets brought in for a workout once they learned they would get the No. 3 draft pick. While there was little doubt the team would select Anthony, the Nuggets were quite fond of Wade.</div> Full Story
I think they were better of taking Melo here, he is more of a crowd Draw, except if Melo did slide, the Raptors probably would of taken him and him and Bron would match up more.
I think the Nuggets would have been better served taking Bosh with the number four pick had they had it. Camby will retire eventually and it would be nice to build around a Nene/Bosh frontcourt.

He is someone that you know is going to be an allstar in a few years if not the next year. Bosh is still developing and he is still a work in progress.
Their pick was the right call,Carmelo along with Lebron are the top two rookies in draft class. No doubt about it.Wade is a very good all-round player that will be an all-star but Melo could be the kind of guy who will lead his team to the NBA title. As good as Wade is,picking Melo was a no brainer.
Injuries to Wade are really hurting him now, bnecause he is a better all around player than Melo and in December before he got hurt, was playing better hands down. As far as Melo being a guy to lead his team to a title, I wills ay that is a big stretch. He has shown he could score, but so has Glenn Robinson.
Yeah, i agree with courtvision. Anthony simply looks a lot better when he's playing. But Wade is fascinating too I have to say. I wouldnt know how nuggets would be without Anthony but with Wade, honestly. Maybe worse.
Well yeah, if you are not playing you can't help your team. All we can speak for is the time that Wade put in so far. Melo had the better Oct, Wade had the better December. The kid needs to get healthy.
There aren't many guys who can lead teams to an NCAA championship in their freshman season. There is no reason not to believe he can led his team to a title with time.Carmelo can do more than score,It's unfair to just compare him to Robinson.Melo has a great attuide, works much harder and is a better passer than Robinson (Not saying much though) Melo will likely be a 25,7 and 3 player sooner or later. Will in the end push his FG up to around 45%,which will be far more respectable than what it is currently.

Carmelo would've brought more offense, Bosh provides defense as well. Your team always said, we need bigger guys, low post players, some more power, well there you go. Give the guy some Props, he's a really nice guy, he's good already as well, just give him time and you'll see he's worth his spot and more.
