<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Big Nasty:</div><div class="quote_post">LOS ANGELES -- The Phoenix Suns placed forward Antonio McDyess on the injured list Monday and activated forward/center Maciej Lampe.

Both players came to the Suns from the New York Knicks two weeks ago in the Stephon Marbury trade.

McDyess will miss a minimum of five games because of tendinitis in his left knee. He has played in 22 games this season including 45 minutes in four since the trade and is averaging 6.5 points and 5.9 rebounds.</div>

Yeah I heard about this before the game... I figured without Amare AND McDyess the Suns would have a problem in the paint against the Lakers. But Jahidi and Jake did a good job (why are the Suns looking to get rid of Jahidi? He's our poor man's version of Shaq!). I still think to beat a team above .500 with a healthy roster the Suns NEED Amare and McDyess, both guys have similar style, so when Amare's resting McDyess can provide some good minutes... I don't think both in the lineup would be a good idea, because when they need to rest you have to put in Harvey and probably Jake, neither have much of an offensive game. So if McDyess and Amare are both healthy, I'd use them to substitute each other all game long, that way the Suns always have a scoring PF who can rebound and bang in the paint.

But let's get realistic, McDyess is only here so in 4 months the Suns can collect his $13.5 million -- I don't think the Colangelos care if he can play or not, I wonder if they are even taking any joy in this winning, or if they cringe at the sound of the draft pick falling.

By the way does anybody know when and what conditions the Spurs get the Suns pick? Also the Suns are owed the Cavs #1, when does that pick become unconditional? Right now it's lottery protected, and it seems they'll be a lottery team for the near future at least.

Yeah not very surprising, I always liked McDyess, he's a hard worker. However he's like Anthony Mason or Rice. With age they lost what they were good at, Rice his shot and both Mason and McDyess, their physical strength. He really should retire....

well Dice hasn't lost all his skill...he's 29 and should still be able to salvage some career if he can stay healthy...but that's a big if...
