<div class="quote_poster">Quoting starman85:</div><div class="quote_post">I really don't see that analogy that you're proposing. No one has said that record should count for MIP, and if it did, it wouldn't matter, since the Blazers and Bucks have similar records anyway. </div>

I was just stating that record doesn't count so someone wouldn't come in and say "Spurs always have a better record, so that's why Duncan gets MVP."

Exactly my point, Randolph's numbers themselves look more convincing than Redd's. Their are scorers everywhere, but only about 12 or 13 cats in the league average a double double.

    Ok, gotcha.

My bad, I misunderstood you. I completely agree with your points. Obviously, someone who scores 20 and rebounds 10 is more valuable than someone who only scores 20, or even 22.

If I had to pick between Redd and Murray though, I'd give it to Flip still. The guy averaged less than garbage, while Redd showed that he was already a talented scorer and that his points would continue to go up as his shots continued to go up. Out of all the MIP candidates, Redd didn't surprise me at all, whereas I can honestly say that I'm surprised by Flip and Zach. I expected Redd to score between 18 and 23 a game, depending on Mason's role.

Carlos Arroyo should be getting more credit. He's gone from a benchwarmer to a starter. His numbers have gone from 2.8 PPG to 13.2 PPG. 1.2 APG to 5.5 APG. 0.60 RPG to 2.5. He may not be MIP so far this season, but he should be in the running for it.

Definitely in consideration. I'd put several players on Utah up for consideration: Arroyo, Stevenson, Kirilenko, and even Ostertag. Raja Bell would get some more talk if he got more playing time, so that's another potential. But I think that because they all shared the improvement, no single player really sticks out above the rest, with Arroyo coming the closest.
