Kyle Korver To The Shootout I'm not really sure what the thing is for you to be in the 3 Point Shootout for the AS Game but do you think Kyle would be in the running? I mean, he's in the top 5 in the NBA. Or do you think they'll choose more known players?
I don't think there are any qualifications to be met in order to participate in the shootout, could be though. The reason I don't think there are any is because in his rookie year, Allen Iverson was in it and he is known for not shooting a high percentage from behind the arc (34.1% that year to be exact). Would be great to see Kyle be in it. I don't think Aaron would do good in it because of his slow release, and in the shootout you need to shoot fast.
Kyle should definitely be in it...I honestly think he'll end up leading the league in 3s for many years...

Kyle has a very quick release. Let's hope they give him a chance and put him in there.
Kyle Korver is definitely money behind the arc, and if he is in it (which he should be), then Peja will really have some competition.
I don't think he will have such a strong competition against him just yet, Peja is far more superior in all aspects of the game right now. Who knows what may happen down the road.
Korver should have been in the 3-point shootout...he has a great shot... Hes better than a lot of those people who made it, if not just as good.
I dunno. Korver would do well, no doubt. But I think that the contestants should be a combo of high percentage and prolific shooting from behind the arc, and Korver doesn't shoot from behind as much as most.
Korver plays 10 minutes a game, and basically waits on the perimeter looking for the open shot. I'd like to see him play enough minutes where fatigue and defensive pressure really come into play - Korver shoots 45%, I think you'll find a lot of guys could shoot that if they only took the shots Korver does. No knock on the guy, but I don't think he's earnt a spot ahead of any of the guys in the competition, and guys like Redd and Houston and Allen who were either looked over or declined.
The only reason Korver and McKie weren't chosen is before they aren't big names like Peja and Chauncey.
KOrver would win it if he was in. He has one of the quickest releases in the game....McKie is not in it for a reason....He has a slow release, he would not have enough time to finish all the racks. But yeah....Korver was definitly snubbed....

Korver plays 10 minutes a game - I'd be pretty annoyed if he made it ahead of me and I was playing 30 minutes a game and still hitting my shots. He hasn't played enough, otherwise Richie Frahm should be in the contest too.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Apparently, the NBA based its selections on quantity ? Lewis, with 70, has the fewest 3-pointers among the six this season, and each is among the top 20 in 3-pointers made ? than the quality. Korver is 45-of-99 from behind the arc, McKie 46-of-95. Both are barely among the league's top 50 for made 3-pointers.</div> I can understand that i guess...

Let's just hope he's still hitting those 3's and getting more playing time.
