So what are your thoughts on the NBA's contract switch from NBC to Disney...

This is the second season I believe...there are more games being shown (on ESPN) but the Sunday games have been cut dramatically (no more triple headers it seems)...

What are your thoughts...did you like it better on NBC, or now on ABC/ESPN...

I liked certain aspects of the NBC broadcasts, but overall I would take ABC/ESPN. There could definitely be many more games though, especially during the week. It was nice when TNT had games on tuesday and thursday, while ESPN had games on mondays and wednesdays. Now you have to have the NBA league pass to get any substantial coverage from outside your local area. I would say that the NBA on free tv or cable will soon be a thing of the past. That's something I wouldn't mind seeing if the games were available on an individual basis. It kinda sucks to pay $180-200 for league pass when you can only really watch two to three games per night.

I don't mind the change but once football is over it would be nice to have the triple headers.

I only liked NBC because of the annoucers and the triple-headers on Sunday. Why don't they do that on ABC?

As a kid growing up, I enjoyed hearing the NBC theme song. Now ever since ABC and ESPN took over, it's kinda boring.

Disney? I never knew that, Disney + NBA = Strange. Such contrasting things, one is very lighthearted and fun whereas the other is a hardcore sport. What's the world coming to, I myself don't really mind either way, afterall we're only watching for the games right?

I agree, Disney doesn't belong anywhere near the sports world. They nearly ruined the Angels, and ever since they took over ESPN they've become a complete parody of themselves. I used to watch ESPN religiously, especially sportscenter. Now it's just a bunch of wanna-be's trying to outwit each other with "hip" dialogue. The broadcasts havn't been that bad, though I think they could do without some of their on-air "personalities".

^ laker fever said it the best that theme song before the playoffs, were the best. And ABC doesnt have Marv Albert doing the NBA finals. You need Marv doing the finals. His key phrase 'YES' sounds so much better in the finals. And ABC has George Karl, I cant stand him. And Ahmad Rashard is a much better inside the studio host then Mike terkco(misspelled). But I like Espn there team is pretty solid with Greg Anthony(major upgraded from my man tim hardaway) Tim Legler(even tho he talks to much sometimes), & the other guy that use to be on fox sports. And it gets even better when they have Stephen A smith & Bill Laimbeer. PUT UP or SHUT Up is pretty funny most of the time. ESPN's crew is trying to gain ground on TNT's crew. but ABC got to go.

Exactly how I feel it about it. I loved that NBA theme song, especially for all the great momments that came around that time. Doug Collins and Bob Costas were exciting announcers together, and I agree, ESPN and ABC seem very boring.

NBC was awsome. The theme song was great, and all of the Jordan memories came from there. Also, great commentators such as Bill Walton and Marv Albert.

the NBC theme song is a classic, thats when MJ played in the finals...where a lot of things happen. The ESPN theme song isn't all that great, same with ABC.

I love the NBC theme song, I wish it were still on NBC..ESPN has some nice features tho and nice eye candy.

    but NBC is classic.

Are we just talking about theme songs, or actual game broadcasts? I dug the NBC music too, just got used to it becuase it was the only one they ever played...CBS had even better coverage than NBC, but that was a long time ago...Dick Stockton and Brent Musberger - now that's a great announce team.

lol, everyone seems to like NBC's music...quick trivia!!! WHO COMPOSED THE NBA ON NBC THEME? clue: dude is like 6'5'' musician...(p.s. the height is just an estimate...i dunno exactly but he's huge)

I agree with the crowd here...NBC was better...more games on Sunday and better announcers...

I gotta admit that I loved the music too, but I can't say that I know who composed it. I used to go around humming it...

I like NBC's coverage slightly better. I thought the stats and analysis were better than many broadcasts today, though TNT isn't bad. I also dug Marv Albert and Bob Costas and Ahmad Rashad. I'd say that the half time shows on ESPN and TNT are better than what NBC used to put up.

Disney owns a lot more than you think!

Disney owns the largest percentage, as a partner, in the biggest company in the soft-to-medium porn market.

    Disney-owned Subsidiaries:

Mirimax Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures, ABC, ESPN, A&E, Hyperion Press.

Needless to say, Disney is one hell of a conglomerate.

I like ABC, but fact of the matter is, Bill Walton still does the games. I try not paying attention to most annoucers and call my own games.
