Chat Transcript Nice find. Here's the transcript: Loreal, Philly: Kyle, Great job so far! I am a big 76ers fan. Do you plan on playing in the Rookie all star game? Kyle Korver: If they ask me too, I'd love to do it. I have a lot of family out there. I don't know if I'm invited or not, we'll just have to wait and see. Eric (Chicago): What was it like when you stepped on the court for your first NBA game? Kyle Korver: Well, I'd have to say I was a little anxious. It was a dream of mine, since I was a little kid. I didn't do too well my first game, but that's another story (laughing). But it felt great. Stephanie (Downingtown): Did you expect to get this many minutes of playing time in your rookie season? Kyle Korver: I wasn't sure what to expect. We had a few injuries and that opened up a lot of playing time and some valuable experience. Now we are getting guys healthy, which is good for our depth. It was great for me, it really helped me grow as a basketball player and hopefully that will continue. Jon, (Philadelphia): How are the fans treating you in philly? What did you hear about the fans before you got here? Kyle Korver: The fans have been great to me, ever since Day One. Coming in I heard they were very intelligent fans who got behind their team and players as long as you played hard and tried your best. Kristen (DuBois): What drills and techniques have you practiced throughout your basketball career to become such a great shooter? Great season so far by the way! Kyle Korver: I've been shooting my whole life, I don't remember a time where I wasn't playing basketball. It's something I really enjoy and I shoot for hours at a time. Chris Jent, one of our assistant coaches, has been a big help for me this year with drills, helping me get my footwork down so I am ready to shoot the ball when I get it. Emily (Toronto): What is your reaction when people say that you look like Ashton Kutcher?? Kyle Korver: I never really heard that until I came out here, but now I hear it every day. It was a little funny at first, but now it's starting to get a little old. It's a lot better than some things they could be yelling, I guess. Personally, I think there's a little resemblence, but not that much. Jessie (Omaha): Have you gotten the chance to see your brother play ball for Drake yet? Will you get the chance to see your former teammates at CU play at the new arena? Kyle Korver: I have not seen Klayton play yet. Feb. 14 over the All-Star break I may get to that game. I'm looking forward to seeing Drake play Creighton then. Michelle (Lansdale): How does it feel to be 3rd in the NBA for 3 point shots when you're just a rookie? Kyle Korver: It feels pretty good. I'd like to be first. It feels good. It's something I pride myself on, I want to be one of the leaders in that category. I will keep working on it. Alec, Boston: Since you are a rookie what types of things do the other guys have you doing? Which players on the team gives you the most advice? Kyle Korver: All the players have been good. They all help me and Willie, the other rookie along. Eric Snow had me bring a USA Today to him everyday during camp. We have to get lunch and juice for guys. It's a big pain in the butt, I can't wait until I'm done with that next year. When I get off the plane I have to help get luggage. Nothing real bad. Only bad part is laundry day. I hate laundry day. That's terrible. Katie (Chicago): Have you had any chances to go home to see friends and family? Kyle Korver: No I haven't had a chance to get home. My two younger brothers came out...Kaleb and Kurt ...for a few days and that was great. My Mom will come out for a few days in February, and I'm looking forward to some good food. Maybe she can help me with some of that laundry. REUTER: Being a college student at Creighton, I heard that at a pool party you once finished a Home Team "Huger Than Huge" Pizza all by yourself...is this true? Kyle Korver: Oh...I'm sure I did that. That is great pizza, man. One time we had a race to see who could get one down first. Matt Raisman (Huntingdon Valley) : What NBA great do you model your game after? Kyle Korver: I never really modeled my game after anybody. I'm my own person and my own player. Not that I don't admire other players and try and do similar things. Sometimes people throw in guys like Steve Kerr and Dan Majerle and Larry Bird, but I never try and model myself after anybody else. Sam (Cortland): Being drafted in the second round of the draft,do you think you can prove that you could of been a first round draft pick? Kyle Korver: I don't worry about that a whole lot. If I was a first round pick I wouldn't have been in Philly and I really like it here. I just want to prove I can play the game in this league. Elke from Holland: Hi Kyle, we all know you are a very good shooter. What do you think is the worst part of your game, the part you like to improve? Kyle Korver: I think I need to improve alot of things. Besides shooting, I think I need to work on everything. I need to get stronger, quicker, work on my ball handling and develop a go-to move. Now that I think about it, I have a lot to work on (laughing).
Wow he's quite a humble and soft spoken fellow. Like Bosh or LeBron, always glad to have such well brought up athletes, bringing some manners, class and genuine kindness to the game, on and off the court. Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy articles like these the most, especially over KMart ones. Since his always seem to be associated with trouble. Going back on the lighter note, thanks again.
I really hope he makes the Rookie Challange. But then again, because his name isn't LeBron James, he probably won't.
