ok all let's play a game where we name a player who we know the reason(s) why he wears his uniform number Kobe Bryant (8): supposedly he got on fire in the week he performed at the adidas ABCD camp while wearing number '143' before he joined the Lake as a rookie back in 1996... he then decided to add those '143' numbers (1+4+3) to make it his Laker number (8) the only rule is only ONE player in each post! He was Kobe's hero, and he wears the number because of him, but that's all I heard.

Michael Jordan - picked #23 because he thought that he didn't match up to his brother Larry (#45) so he cut the number in half to #23. Also, if you see he wore #9 in the USA Olympic team because 4+5 =9. It's all simple math.

I forget) that Kobe was quoted as saying that whole ABCD camp and #143 thing... so, which one is the right onw? I honestly don't know :mrgreen:

BTW, Penny wears #1 because he thought he's a penny sent from heaven. He got the nick "Penny" from his grandmother, who actually wanted to call him "pretty" but sounded more like "penny".
Actually It was reported Mcgrady wears the number 1 because thats what round of the playoffs he most likes to be stuck in.
