Along with that he added Gabriel as the worst GM, and Gaines as the biggest bust of the draft.. I am cool with that.. But am I reading this wrong? Drew Gooden disappointing? Devean George disappointing? Drew Gooden has been held down because of Howard.. I really don't understand his reasoning here..
Drew Gooden can't be dissapointing. Sure he puts up some odd threes here and there but the guy can play basketball. He's helped the Magic alot when they need him especially on rebounds. I disagree completely with this article
Everyone expected him to bust out after that playoff series last year. He was scoring, rebounding at will against Big Ben. Howard is the main reason why he's dissappointing. Gooden has really disappointed me, but he's not starting now and is trying to hard to impress people at times. He's young and still goes at 110 mph, he needs to slow down. He makes a bunch of stupid fouls and stupid decisions at the end of games, that's why we always bench him at the end of games. He must have been expecting more boards from Gooden, which I was too. I was expecting Gooden to get double digit boards. I wouldn't put Gooden on this list though.

He has been a disappointment for me personally following up last year's terrific playoff series against Detroit, as well as his play during the regular season while on the Magic. While he's been a disappointment, I wouldn't put him on this list either. Devean George? That's crazy, just simply crazy. 2 Future Hall of Famers already on the team, you add 2 more, and you're left with Devean George as the last option on offense, yet having by far the best season of his young career. This somehow equals a place on the All-Disappointing team? I must be missing something here. Here's my All-Disappointing Team: F: Hedo Turkoglu, San Antonio Spurs F: Caron Butler, Miami Heat C: Brian Grant, Miami Heat G: Alvin Williams, Toronto Raptors G: Tony Parker, San Antonio Spurs

How can you say that? Butler for one was injured very badly and still remains good on defense. I think Parker really stepped up and matured. He shoots well from the perimeter, is an unseflish player, just somehwat inconsistent and unreliable at times, but not the majority. Gooden is a great rebounder, plus a great spark off the bench, he's one of the only good support players on the Magic. He can make several differences. If I was to say someone was disappointing, I'd say it was Vin Baker, I had so much hope for this guy getting back on his feet, he was playing great too.
I agree on Vin Baker.. I had alot riding on him after Antoine got traded.. I expected him to get some help for Pierce.. The whole personal problem just equals a disapointment.. He was expected to do some stuff this year.. Butlers been too injured to claim him as a disapointment.. And Parker started out injured too, hes holding the team together as much as he can, You have to give him and Duncan credit for holding it together.. Another one I can think of is Scot Pollard.. They got rid of Brad Miller because of Salary and the best they could get was Pollard.. He got a chance to step up and start for a team, but Jeff Foster took his spot.. After playing behind the Kings and Divac, hes playing behind a guy I myself never even heard of.. Disapointment in my book.. And how about instead of blamming it on Gooden, Blame it on the Magic team as a whole.. They have to be the most disapointing team in the league.. Ive read so many magazines and heard so much about how they where First-Second in the east.. But now they are last in the NBA.. I dont think Gooden should get the blame..

Well, in my opinion, altho I agree that he doesn't belong on the list of biggest disappointsments, Drew Gooden has still been disappointing... He was great at Kansas, and I really saw this guy becoming a great player in the League. I realize he is still quite young and he has a lot of time to develop...but he was one of the few rookies believed to make an immediate impact. Maybe he is just a victim of high expectiations, but I thought he was going to be 17 and 10 guy right out of college. The biggest problem I've seen is that he has fallen in love with his jumper. He gone soft!!! That's not acceptable for an inside player of his caliber. He's only averaging 3 ft attempts per game...
Very true. Even though his jumper has gotten better, He can't become like Tmac and rely on it. He needs to take the ball to the hole and use some post moves.
Agreed. He needs to use that big ball of shine of his and make something happen. That jumper is good but Gooden taking it to the rack is better. Think about it.

As for Parker, he's 21 years old, yet his numbers have regressed from the stats he put up last season as a 20 year old. He was injured as the beginning of the year, but it was a minor injury and he came back playing fairly well, and not showing signs of recovering from his injury. He's scoring less, shooting worse, and not getting as many steals as he did last season in the same(actually slightly more) playing time. How is he not a disappointment?

I don't think if your numbers go down your a disapointment.. i mean if they drastically drop, and you just plain out suck from last year, deffinatly.. I think what where trying to talk here is Hype Wise.. Gooden cant be a disapointment hype wise because no one expected the Magic to bring out Drew Gooden on the bench when they signed howard.. Same can be said about Devean George.. The man has no hype, he just.. Was that Fifth Guy that everyone though wouldnt even need to touch the ball... Vin Baker though.. Everyone thought he was gonna be the guy for Boston when Walker was traded. They thought that his rehab was good and he was gonna make a impact.. Take LeBron James for a example..If he where to come out in his first game and continue at it.. Just coming out and totally be terrible.. Then thats a disapointment.. Id put Vin Baker on my list.. Darius Miles(For what the 2nd year now?).. No one else i can really think of.. I would put Darko there, but i kinda figured hes gonna take some time to develope.. And Rightfully so..
Drew I am disappointed that the coach doesn't have as much faith in him as Doc had. This year has been quite a mess for the Magic and once it's cleaned up I believe Drew will be an important part of their long term goals.

I still think we should have this as our starting lineup. pg-Strickland sg-Tmac sf-Bogans pf-Gooden c-Hunter/Zaza Bench-Giricek, Hunter/Zaza, Juwan, Shammond and Lue. All of that would be to develop the players, other than PG.

On paper I was excited because some guys aren't touch acting/looking but they play hard, i.e. Andre Miller. Howard just seems too lax and not a true vet. He can scream about being a vet all day but he's not ballin' like these vets: Voshon Lenard Jamal Mashburn (just back from an injury and hurtin'people's feelings) Micheal Finley Nick Van Exel I'd love to have Mike with the MAGIC. I know he has loyalty issues with Mark/Mavs but I think Mark is being selfish by keeping him with the Mavs.
This is what I think PG Lue SG McGrady SF Bogans PF Gooden C Zaza Lue starts the first and if he's doing good keep him in for half of the second then replace him with Rod. McGrady Don't have to say anything about him except I would like to see him run the point more. Bogans. Start him because the effort he has. He's going to be a real benifit for the Magic Gooden. Start him over Howard. He does so good when he's in their by himself. He blocks shots and get rebounds. Zaza Start him not because of the cool name but because he's hustler.
With Zaza starting ahead of Declerq you don't lose any hustle(both hustle like crazy), but you gain a whole bunch of skills.(Zaza has some skills, Declerq has none)
