Rookie Brian Cook is no longer a healthy reserve. He broke his right pinkie and coach Phil Jackson said ``it doesn't look good for him.'' Full Article: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/recap?gid=2004012206
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting notMuchgame:</div><div class="quote_post">Yea, they are going to have only 8 guys available for their next game...7 guys are out...</div> All but Kobe and Rick are big men too. Can it get any worse for the Lakers? Really, this is unbelievable.
OH MY GOD!!! Please comeback, Lakers!!! If you could stop the time and let their injuries heal first..... Brian was really getting his feet wet and coming into his own... I hope it's not serious go go go Brian!!!
Man, who's next? There must be a dark cloud hovering over this team. This means that Shaq has to get himself back in the lineup NOW. I can't be the judge of how much pain he's in, but this is a time when he has to suck it up and get back on floor for his team.

I'm not gunna believe it until I see him on the court.
I'm sorry to keep harpin' on this..but Shaq disgusts me..his ridiculous statements about himself all the team..how the Lakers are his team..now he pulls this. We all know a 'strain' doesn't cause that long of an absence...Shaq is selfish and the Lakers should trade his overrated ass. But then we'll have to hear him whine for 3 years about how dirty the Lakers treated him and how much revenge he gonna get.
First off, Shaq should be playing, he stained his calf, big whoop. He is going by his agenda and it is hurting the team, GP cant carry this team alone, Second...Kobe said he would try to play on Sunday, and that could help or hurt us, just depends on how he is doing recovery wise...
I'm keeping my fingers x'd on the Kobe thing, that's something I've always respected about him. If he can walk, he can play. Of course when he injured his shoulder he wasn't going to do the team or himself any good by trying to continue, but at least he makes every possible effort to be there for his team. Shaq should be doing whatever he has to to get himself back on the court. Constant treatment, wrapping the leg, icing it, heating it, whatever the hell he has to do. His team NEEDS him. Shaq has to back up his statements about this being Shaq's team, because right now his word seems to be worth very little.

Just what the Lakers need. Crap, does this mean Rodman could be on the way? Cuz if Rodfreakzilla signs with the Lakers, I will not support him. The man the Lakers SHOULD get is Jason Caffey. End Udoka's 10-day contract and sign Jason Caffey. He has played the triangle before and is a veteran.

Yeah, I think we need to go A-Team on him and spike his drink like they used to do to B.A. Then we get about 10 people together to help load his huge carcass onto the next flight to Salt Lake. I pity da' fool who don't wanna play cause of a strained calf!!!

Damn, Brian Cook out now. I was enjoying his play, and thought he had stepped up very well in the absence of the frontcourt due to injury. Now he's gone. Definetley give Rodman a call! Are the Lakers being cursed?
