Finally Good News Kobe could be back as early as Saturday against the Jazz, and Shaq is scheduled to come back on Wednesday against the Sonics. Full Article: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1715721
LOL, I'm amazed, Kobe back before Shaq? Other than that, this is great news. I am ready to get back on track of winning consistently again, I don't expect us to start winning a lot of games right off the bat, but we'll see the Lakers quietly sneak back up into the top of the West Standings soon. And Malone a week after, now that Phil has seen what Medvedenko and Cook can do in full time, I wonder if he will still give them decent minutes.
Kobe returning before Shaq, eventhough Shaq got injured 9 games before Kobe. Kobe's injury was a lot more serious than Shaq's, but hes back before him. Very disappointing on Shaq's part. Kobe probably worked his ass off to get that right arm working good again probably, I hope he doesn't come back too soon and injure it even worse.
<font size="5">Kobe might return Saturday</font> NBCSports.com news services Updated: 11:49 a.m. ET Jan. 23, 2004 Kobe Bryant might return to action Saturday night for the Los Angeles Lakers, 12 days after spraining his shoulder in a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, ESPN reported Friday. Lakers coach Phil Jackson said he expects Bryant to take part in the team shootaround prior to Saturday night's game against the Utah Jazz, ESPN said. "It's an option," Jackson said of the possibility that Bryant would play that night. ESPN also said Shaquille O?Neal thinks he might return to the court on Wednesday against the Seattle SuperSonics. He strained his right calf Jan. 4. Karl Malone sprained a ligament in his right knee Dec. 21 and is on the injured list. Bryant, the NBA?s seventh-leading scorer with a 22-point average, was placed on the injured list Jan. 13. He was injured in a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers when he faked Cleveland?s Kedrick Brown into the air outside the 3-point line and Brown landed on his shoulder. ?I thought it was worse,? Bryant said. ?When he came down on it, I felt it snap and pop and all that, so I thought it was worse. I thought it was really bad. ?Considering all the circumstances, I?d much rather have this injury than what I thought I had. I thought it was out of the socket, that my arm was going to drop, I thought I was done. It felt bad, it sounded bad. ?So I was kind of relieved. It felt totally different from the one last spring.? Bryant injured his shoulder in a failed dunk attempt against Minnesota in the first round of the playoffs and underwent surgery June 12, four weeks after the Lakers were eliminated by San Antonio in the second round. He had an inflamed bursa removed and a frayed labrum trimmed. ?If somebody?s going to land on top of your shoulder like that, there?s nothing you can do about it,? Bryant said before the Lakers faced the Denver Nuggets. ?That made it worse. I was exploding up and he was coming down. ?It was just one of those things. I?ve never had this injury before, so I really don?t know too much about this area. I?m kind of learning as I go and trying to educate myself better on my injury.? ? 2004 NBC Sports.com

hmmm... just wondering why i became poster #7 although i posted this thread originally. not a big deal, just wondering what happened. is there a bug on this forum or somethin'?
That's good he's coming back, But for tomorrow's night's game, I'd like for him to take fewer shots so that he can take stress off of his shoulder. His teammates really have to help him out as much as possible.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TimFlem:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah but Kobe has more stress than Shaq so Shaq should be back before Kobe IMO</div> This has nothing to do with stress, Shaq had a calf injury, WOW!

Why is Shaq so skinny in the 2nd image though?</div> That's actually suppose to be Kobe, he's thinking about the judicial system...He also got the stars on his shoulder... The guy on the right with the crutches is Malone...he got his knee wrapped.
