Alright everyone. As we slowly approach the all-star break, i can clearly say that the Raptors have underachieved thus far this year. If you look at the team, imo, even without VC, they should still be at least 4-6 games above .500. The Bucks are just getting better in the season, and we haven't even developed an identity for ourselves yet. The Bucks are currently 3 1/2 games ahead of us in the standings and i'm beginning to think more and more that our chances of making the playoffs are becoming very slim. Does anyone agree with me? ***Also, does anyone think that the VC era in our club is slipping away, and that we should trade VC (although i would never want it to happen) and start rebuilding??? - Even when things look their darkest, a shining beacon of hope still gleams within every person's soul.
Listen buddy, calling the Raptors "underachieving" would be a bold false statement ! .. Id you haven't known yet, we're the second most improving team in the league right now after the Nuggets comparing to last season's record. Now .. when we entered this season, we didn't expect our team to get to the finals, we expected them to make the playoffs ( which I think we will ) and go deep in it as far as possible ! .. I think the Raptors now are at what everybody expected from them 5-7 seed in the east. Now the Bucks are really overachieving .. but still the season ain't over yet and they're only 2 games over the Raps ( not 3 1/2 ) , and they might not even make the playoffs, it remains a possibility ! ...
Wait, not trading Carter, but yeah, rebuilding a team that doesnt concentrate ONLY on Carter. And I do think we've achieved something compared to last year ..
well, i think we are under achieving a little bit...i cetainly think we should be above .500, but our recent losing streak has taken care of that. if we can put together a winning streak, thinks will look up a bit trading carter is a bad idea. so is rebuilding. we have a pretty good core of players...if we can sign a decent center in the offseason, then we could have a deadly front line with donyell at the 3 and bosh at the 4. a bench that includes michael curry, mo pete, lonny baxter, alvin williams and another role player is solid. but to answer your question, if we keep playing the way we have the past few games, no we wont make the playoffs...if we turn things around, we will for sure. i think we will

Whatever....the Raptors are underachieving this year, and you can tell by the way that they play games. I see no effort on defence and the bench doesn't even look like they are into the game at all..ie no motivation, blank stares. They could be a top 3 seed in the East with the Talent they have but now they are fighting for a playoff spot and dipping below .500? They are underachieving but there is always a chance to turn it around. This club is streaky at times, winning three in a row then losing two in a row. If they can find consistency with defence and offence together, they can make a good run in the playoffs.
I personally think its abig statemnt to say that the Raptors are underachieving. So, we have a losing streak going on right now. Its the half of the season. every team wil have winning or losing steraks.. Once the raptors are back on track well win some and I think willb e right where we should be, 4 or 5 games above .500. I still believe strongly that we ill be in the playoffs. I woulda liked to see, as courtvision said a Third seed from the Raptors, which is easily done, but it would take alotta consistency and no more streaks.

There is no way the Raptors are a top 3 seed, your highly overrating them. They've got absolutely no bench, and they are way too streaky to be higher than a 4th seed. They are 12-14 since the big trade, thats a span of 26 games where they had the chance to turn it around, did they? You can't give a team half a season thats as streaky as the Raptors and expect them to get the 3rd seed.
I'm not too sure, so many team deserve to be in the playoffs, they just have a bad season is all. Take the Magic for example, they sure as hell wouldn't deserve the spot as even they know, they'd perform badly this year. As for the Raptors, that all depends, they're one of the better underdog teams but not so much so as say the Grizzlies or the Nuggets. Sure it's not about records, fact is, it's bias and unfair either way.

I think that they wont make the playoffs. Im being realistic why would they? If other teams keep doing bad and the knicks stay the same as they are in milwauke will be bad again then we could but i think not
