Theo Ratliff to Detroit If you watched NBA Fast Break today, you woulda seen that the Pistons are dying to aquire Theo Ratliff from Atlanta. This would give them the 2 best shot blockers in the NBA. Elden would probably have to go, along with someone like Termaine Folwkes or Darvin Ham, who I would hate to see go. What do you think?
Elden would not be enough for Ratliff though. Maybe some cash to go with it or maybe some draft picks.
I highly doubt this trade. Think about it: Theo is a center and is making a butt-load of money for a couple more years. The problem, in more ways than one, isn't Campbell, but Okur. Mehmet is finally the starting center, and is getting big minutes, and the Pistons aren't about to set his development back by sitting him. Also, his contract is almost up, and Dumars has been trying to desperately slash payroll in order to meet any offers that come Mehmet's way. So signing the high-priced(some would say over-priced) Ratliffe doesn't make any sense at all.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting HoustonHoopa33:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah this hardly makes sense...they have a lot more needs to fulfill...</div> Yup, such as scoring... they had Ratliff at one time, he was Ben Wallace... all rebounds/blocks no scoring. Besides he has a history of injuries, not sure why the Pistons want him back, unless they need depth or know they'll need him (another trade may follow).
i hope we don't trade for Theo. i'd rather we trade for a low post scorer like shareef abdur-rahim, if we make a trade at all. otherwise, i say we just develop our young talent right now. If Memo develops more consistency, he'll be a capable scorer. theo is just a poor man's ben wallace.

They're both purely defensive, however, I believe Wallace is so much stronger and more effective as a whole. He's a better stealer for one. Also Detroit is one of the better defensive teams, why would we want someone who's usually a starter, the only use he'd have is relief for Big Ben.
detroit cant rebound for crap! only when big ben is out there they can rebound. this guy on the other team once missed a shot, rebounded it, then scored a jumper
