After about three and a half years after giving away Maggette to the Clippers, the Magic must be feeling really bad about it about now with him averaging 20PPG in only 35MPG. Now coming into the fourth season without Hill, they've been missing someone to help T-Mac, and Corey could have provided that for them. I remember when this trade was made, Corey was traded to L.A. because of the signing of Hill and McGrady, and they didn't want to make him sit on the bench behind them. I liked the fact that they didnt' want to see him rot on the bench and wanted him to find good use in some other team, but that seems like it has come back to haunt them. Corey is #3 in PPS ( Points Per Shot ), only behind Shaq and his teammate Brand. On Corey's NBA.COM Bio it said that he was traded with Strong and Dooling to L.A. for a draft pick, but does anyone know who they drafted with that pick? I don't know if that pick has been given to them yet, but makes me real curious..

I truthfully don't know if they used that draft pick, but Corey Maggette isnt the only breakout the Magic have lost...

They have had people like Chauncy Billups, Ben Wallace. Maggette, Even Mike Miller who already was good, We got Gooden and Giricek out of it so it wasnt a total loss.. But the Magic have had a ton of Corey Maggettes if you will... Sure on this one the logic of Hill playing more was good, But Maggette could of been a good player.. And they just got a draft pick for him? Was it a First Rounder? I am sure three guy's for a first rounder, a clippers first rounder would sound good.. I am not sure myself, So i am with you, I am curious now...

Actually I think what happened was that Strong, Maggette, and Dooling was traded for a 2nd rounder so that it would free cap space so that we could sign Tmac and Hill. Even when he played in Orlando I knew that he'd be a great player. I really liked the guy, but you have to consider that we would have had Hill, Tmac, Mike Miller, and Maggette at Sg/SF positions. Maggette wouldn't have gotten any playing time. I still wish we had Maggette, but there's almost no way he'd be this good if he stayed on Orlando.

The Magic have had a veritable all-star team come and go over the past decade. I feel really bad for Magic fans out there, Orlando could have had a couple of championships under their belt if not for some terrible personnel decisions, as well as some very bad luck with the Grant Hill situation. It all started with Shaq-adocious leaving town, which wasn't really their fault. Nonetheless, since then it's become almost unreal with the number of players Orlando has essentially given away.

Yes, very unreal. That's why we want to fire Gabe. He's the cause for us losing talent.
