The game against the Bucks was the half way point of the season for the Raptors, there are 41 games to go, but right now through this first half of the season who do you think deserves the "Most Valuable Raptor Award". In other words who do you think is the Most Valuable Player on the Raptors so far?

It has to be Vince, Donyell is a close second, but he doesn't win the games for the Raps like Vince does.

I give props to CB4 for playing undersized and being one of the tougher Raptors out there<--------Alvin Williams falls under that category as well

I'll have to say Bosh and Williams. Williams because of his underdog yet all out effort sort of play. He gives it his all every game, very underated. Bosh due to the fact he's playing center at such a height and weight class. He does well at it though. Vince for the fact, that he's playing smart/safe basketball.

The Raptor with the most impact has been Donyell Marshall.

Vince Carter and Donyell Marshall have been the most impressive, and the Most Dissappointing Raptor award goes to Alvin Williams.

That's a shame....Alvin has been playing hurt all season; he is in no way dissapointing to me; he's toughness defined.

Jalen Rose and Donyell Marshall are the best. Vince Carter and Morris Petterson are the next best, and the most dissapointing Raptor this season has been Chris Bosh. [IMG]

    Marshall and Vince.

Jalen, Mo Pete, Lamond Murray, and Alvin all disappointin.

Bosh is uh... I wish he'd be much better but honestly, I can't complain that much. He's a guranteed star in the future, no doubt.

I'd have to say Vince Carter. Even though he's been in a slump lately, he has provided us with that needed spark to get over the hump when we were struggling to score earlier this year. Donyell is great too, I can't disregard his efforts, but I believe Vince is more deserving right now.

When I hear people saying "Alvin is so underrated", I begin to think that they're overrating him, because I truly think hes not underrated at all. Yes he plays through injuries, yes he does his best, but in the end its not a huge impact. He gets the credit he deserves, which is little. The reason why he doesn't stand out is because hes not a great player, so saying hes underrated I think is an overstatement. Players who put up 18-25 a game and don't get enough credit are the underrated players, people like Rashard Lewis and Michael Redd, but now they seem to be getting more love. To me Alvin is the same as every 9-13ppg player in this league, they have a specific role and they complete that, I don't think they (Alvin, and similar players) should get extra credit for doing as little as what they do. I'm simply saying he gets enough credit for what he does.

Staying on topic... Donyell Marshall gets my nod for the Most Valuable Raptor award. Hes played 25 games in a Raptor uniform averaging 17.3 ppg and 10.3 rpg while shooting 49.6% from the field, his ppg average is close to what Vince's is now: 20.9ppg. To me, Vince hasn't done what he can do, hes had seasons with 25ppg, and 27ppg while shooting a fairly high percentage: around 46%. This season hes only shooting 41.4% and as I said earlier with a weak 20.9ppg. Maybe Raptor fans are expecting too much from him, but considering hes already accomplished those high scoring averages I expect close to the same. Sure you can make lame excuses like "well now he has help, so his average has gone down", what I would say to that is if hes really a better player he would live up to his potential. I'm not bashing Vince, but I'm sick of him taking off-balanced jumpers and forcing up shots, I'd be much happier if I ever saw an effort for him getting to the basket. Yes you could argue that he has, but the reason why his shooting percentage was much higher in earlier years it was because of his ability to get to the basket, this year hes shooting less free throws and shooting more three pointers which is the cause for his low scoring and low shooting percentage. This is what makes Donyell Marshall the most valuable Raptor so far this season.

i think rose has become very important for raps now, without him carter and marshall nothing would work

franchise...everything u say is true, but let me tell you something. Would you rather have a Vince who rarely drives to the basket and takes a lot of off-balanced jumpers? Or would you rather have a Vince who stays on the bench all of the time because of injuries? because if he drives to the basket all the time, it's almost definite that he WILL get injured again.

Donyell Marshal, Vince is 2nd Then CB4.
Jalen Rose is too much of a loose cannon... just shoots for no reason. Donyell has played tremedously and So has Bosh. Carter.... well... Lets just hope for him not getting injured!

Well then we need to find a new star, theres no excuse for this, considering every other star with his abilities can do it without getting injured. In that case I'd rather have Vince traded, if he can't get to the basket, and have atleast 6 free throw attempts a game we won't win, its that simple.

i cant believe what im reading!?!?!? most disapointing goes to bosh and alvin???

well, doesnt mean anything, the same guy who said bosh is the most disapointing raptor is the same guy who said jalen has been consistant [IMG] seriously mate, check yourself, how is bosh a disapointment? hes leading all rookies in rebounds, blocks, fg% 2nd in double doubles, fourth in scoring (on a team where hes the 4th option) and banged in the middle with some of the biggest guys in the league. hes a power forward playing center. in what world is that a disapointment?

I made a joke about bosh being disappointing. And i dont have enough chances to watch games caus i live in china so i can only tell from the few games they show. The last game i could watch was gainst Hornets and in that one Rose seemed very important for the Raptors without Carter. Thats what I thought. Ok, i m not a basketball pro that watches every game and comments on it, so if you think i should not be respected, sorry. I write what I thought about the games i can see, so if new bball fanatics ( i havent been fan for too long so how come every post of mine be a high quality one) are not allowed in here fine i wont post anymore then. i hoped i could learn something here and thought youd accept me but it doesnt seem so... which would be a disappointment.
