One game and you already miss Miles? LOL, the article was written by Marc Stein. You know what that means, don't read it! I think Mcinnis will make a nice fit on this team, he's starting off fresh, that's always a good situation to be in for a player like him.
Well, Stein was very accurate, we have all heard these things about McInnis. His debute sure was impressive, and we do have the power of playing with LeBron James, who will have that power of making people want to play here (much like that bone that Wallace threw to the Cavs last week) So I say all of this is a wait and see, if h can hold up and play like last night every game, I will be extremely happy. I too wanted Boykins bad, he has always wanted to be a Cav for life, and we kept passing him over. I will never forgive the Cavs for that.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting King James:</div><div class="quote_post"> I too wanted Boykins bad, he has always wanted to be a Cav for life, and we kept passing him over. I will never forgive the Cavs for that.</div> Whoa, I never knew you had a chance at Earl Boykins, he's such a great player, it'd be great to have alongside James and the rest of the Cavs. It's a young team anyway. As for the gaining of McInnis, I wasn't too sure whether it was a good idea. Miles wasn't bad really, just a few mistakes, he has athleticism, but let's face it. He's not lazy like Swift or Coleman. McInnis has some saving graces, but like the article says, he was LeBron's best buddy on the Cavs, he probably won't take to that lightly. I sure am glad Davis is gone though, he would've wanted the glory and never want LeBron to grow.
^ Boykins is a former Cav too We signed him to a few 10 day contracts, the Cavs would never committ. He went to school on the same block as me too. He is from Cleveland.
I found this bit very interesting... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Cavaliers know that Jeff McInnis has not always been a model citizen in his pro career. In Portland, he sulked at the end of the bench when he was lifted from the starting lineup two games ago. As one executive said: ``He's never happy with his playing time. If he plays 28 minutes, he wants 30. If he plays 30, he wants 32. He'll let the coach know and Paul (Silas) will have to deal with that.'' ? The flip side, said the executive, is: ``Jeff plays hard all the time. In games. In practice. Anytime. He's a hungry player who got cut a couple of times early in his career and fights for everything he has. This should be a great spot for him. He wants to star. He's on a short contract leash, so he should have even extra incentive to do the right things.'' ? McInnis is earning $3.3 million this year. He has a contract for $3.6 million next season, but it's guaranteed only if he's on the roster on July 1. The Cavaliers can cut him before that and not have to pay him a penny.</div> Full Story <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Ainge had interest in McInnis, but not when the deal was made. "I've always liked him," Ainge said. "We just didn't have what [Portland] wanted." The Cavs could save around $3 million by exercising a buyout in McInnis's contract before July 1. But they swooped in on McInnis mainly because the point guard market is pretty thin.</div> Full Story
Do you really thing that Mcinnis will really boss around Silas? The cavs players will always make sure they don't cross Silas the wrong way or they can just forget about playing here. Cavs players must to Silas
With K.O. playing great basketball, McInnis probably wont be getting the minutes he desires on this team. However Ollie will never take McInnis' starting position for the fact that Jeff's upbeat game gets the Cavs going early onto the game. Then Ollie takes over for the safty of turnover/assist ratio reasons. Once McInnis gets into the groove of things and really gets to know what type of players he is around, McInnis will get th 30+ minutes he wants. He just doesn't know what abilities each player has yet. Did anyone notice how high that alley oop was that he tossed to Brown in his debute? There was no way Kedrick would have finished that play.
This is Jeff's big chance, end of story. He is playing for the Cavs not to buy out his contract at the end of the season, and to stay with an up and coming franchise that can have a very, very bright future. If he messes this up, forget about him, plain and simple.
This type of attitude has been with McInnis since his Tar Heel days. Alot of the ACC writers wandered how he lasted as long as he did with Dean Smith.
well give the guy his credit so far. he's been nothing but spectacular for the cavs so far with his play and his attitude. I've seen silas giving him high 5's during called timeouts etc during games so there seems to be no issue there thus far. This was a great pickup for the cavs.
I agree with Gameday, so far so good. He is doing the right thing in passing and pushing the basketball, I just wish he would drive and look to score and get to the line a little more.
Jeff McInnis has been playing great so far. The Cavs are just 2 games back now(well, last time I checked, anyway) and the East isn't getting that much stronger. And what can you say about Big Z against Miami? 30, 11, 1. The trade rumors will be fading fast if he keeps up this play.
Found this nice piece of Jeff.... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">McInnis proving worth for Cavaliers Turnovers down since guard arrived in trade Jeff McInnis' impact on the Cavaliers has been profound, and yet he claims he's a pro who hasn't found himself. Since dealing Darius Miles to the Portland Trail Blazers for McInnis and center Ruben Boumtje Boumtje, the Cavaliers have gone 5-2. McInnis hasn't accomplished anything special, especially by his own standards, but has done nearly everything the Cavaliers acquired him to do.</div> Full Story
McInnis: "LeBron is the truth" A must read interview with Jeff.... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">What's your impression on LeBron's game? JM: He's the truth. He's all they say he is. His work ethic is what really surprised me. He works really hard, and he wants to get better. What about the group of players the Cavs have here? What's your first impression? JM: My first impression is I was really impressed with Carlos Boozer. He's the main person who stuck out in my mind. I noticed he was a good player, but I really didn't know he was that good. So watching Booze play, he's probably the most impressive guy since I've been here, besides LeBron.</div> Full Story

This is a question that I've had for a long time but there was never an appropriate thread for it; Is it just me, or do the Cavs have too many pgs? I was watching one of their games and I realized that they have McInnis, JR Bremmer, Kevin Ollie, and Bron (who will eventually evolve into a sg/sf). It just seems to me that they have a lot of mediocre point guards (you-know-who being the exception), and they are using it to compensate for their lack of a good back up pg. Cavs fans explain this to me.
