I've been a diehard Rockets fan since the days of O.T. Carl Herrera Elie Chilcutt Olajuwon Smith Maxwell Horry and Cassell...........I was just becoming a basketball fan when the rockets won their 1st title.....one of my most memorable rockets moments was when they were playing the Spurs in the '94 NBA season......Vernon Maxwell carried the Rockets most of the game and hit the game winning shot at the buzzer, me and my dad went bannanas.....I still remember Rudy T running off the court with his arms raised above his head......truly great Rockets moment!!!
I became a fan of the Rockets sometime around 1973, I guess that makes me the old timer. I just returned to Houston after thirty years in Europe where I worked for the U.S. government and coached basketball. We have had so many great players it is hard to pick just one. Over the years we have had Rick Barry, Elvin Hayes, Moses Malone, Mike Newlin, Hakeem Olajuwon, Otis Thorpe and Rudy Tomjanovich just to name a few. The sad part is not have many we have had but how many we have let get away. ..
Hey guys, i've been a Rockets fan since about 1999 (I was a Bulls fan b4 that but Rockets were my second fav) My fav player would have to be Hakeem Olajuwon (now its T-Mac and Yao obviously) my fav moment was that Tracy Mcgrady moment with the spurs, and I don't really have a least fav moment...
Well i was a fan when i the rockets made the final back in 93' 94' and watch them win the championship..i lost touch after the dream left to toronto till this season. last season i was a semi-fan (lived in houston, watch there games and rooted, but didnt really love them cause of francis)..but now, im a true fan once again..please accept me.. =)
Rockets fan since the Houston/Seattle series in the '92-'93 playoffs, when I was about 10 years old. I would have been a fan much earlier but my father wasn't into the NBA. I just happened to catch that series on TV one day, when Kenny Smith missed the clutch 3 and they were eliminated from the playoffs. That shot is my first vivid memory of the Rockets. From that point on, I was a fanatic. I would literally cry when they lost playoff games, and I would do little ritualistic/superstitious routines during important games. I remember during game 5 of the Jazz series in '94-'95 when the Rockets had their backs to the wall in the Delta Center, I would run outside across the street and make a basket on my friend's goal during every commercial. Somehow I felt that it helped. That was the game when Hakeem made that improbable Dream Shake that kissed the extreme top left corner of the backboard and magically went in. I continued to be a diehard fan up until about 2001 when I went away for college, but once we got Yao and started showing promise again, I regained my interest in the Rockets and the NBA as a whole. Now I'm as big a fan as ever, even through these tough times. My favorite Rocket of all time is Hakeem Olajuwon, hands down, 'nuff said. Currently my favorite Rocket is Yao, although I sure wish he could be more consistant. You never had to question if Hakeem was going to bring his "A" game...
been a rockets fan ever since we had cassel horry maxwell etc.. cried when they lost :'( and every game they played that year in teh playoffs i would my rockets shirt and jersey good old memories, hopefull million more to come

That's a great thing considering our fellow Rockets fans there know Yao's game better than us. Also, we have quite an Asian group here in this forum. I for one am a Singaporean living in Toronto.
hahaha....nice story sniper, yeah I remember I would cry so hard during the rockets playoff games.........I still remember game 7 against Phoenix in '95, when the rockets were getting blown out in the first half.....I cried my eyes out.....my mom used to get so mad at me and she used to always tell me if I didn't stop stressing over rockets games, that I was gonna have ulcers when I got older..........man those were the days
Ive been a rocket fan since the late 80's new to the forum and am extremely excited about this season. My all time favorite player is Hakem.

I became a fan around that same time. Rudy T. was my favorite player at the time. And I loved Calvin Murphy's toughness. It seemed he was constantly getting into fights back then. But my all time fav. would have to be Hakeem.
I just registered on this forum... I'm in Sydney, Australia... Was a fan of the Bulls back when Jordan was around, now I'm a Rockets fan ever since Yao was drafted. I love the makeup of the team, after all the trades were made. The potential of this team is just enormous, as can be seen in the 8-game win streak before the All-Star break, and the current 5-game streak, amazing because the wins were all against the top West teams and mostly were away games. Mike James has come out and said our team's goal this season is to win the championship. I hope they do

Well, Guy'z I Just Actually Just Started Becoming A Rocket'z Fan This Season. I Guess Because My Favorite Player Is T-mac, I Go Where Ever He Go'z. My Favorite Moment Was When T-mac Scored All The Last Point'z Against Tha Spur'z And Came All The Way Back 2 Shoot A 3 And Win The Game!!! My Favorite Player Was, Well, Since I'm New 2 This Whole Rocket'z Thing, I Like T-mac Right Now.
Rockets are the NBA Yo sup peopl. So i gota confes iv only bn playin ball 4 1 n a half yrs but say wat u lik i hold ma own on tha court n il tak on ne cat.im only 15 n i play 4 saffron walden(england) seniors wich consists of 18-20+ yr olds, cos of dis im bein reborn as a guard cos dey r al 6ft+ n im only 5ft 10" so i cnt rele play SF.Im also tryin out ryt now 4 a basketball academy in cambrigde(england) so watch out USA me n ma homis wil b takin u by storm soon. so i gues y'al r wonderin how im a devotd rockets fan.wel wen i 1st startd playin ball the 1st match i propaly watchd was rockets against seatle supersonics (we lost).i didnt becom a fan den but i always likd der styl of play wit Yao,Cuttino n Franchise.Along wit dis T-mac was, stil is,n 4eva wil b ma fav playa (n personally i do fink he is tha bst playa around). So in the 2004 offseason wen rockets got T-mac it confirmd ma support of the rockets.N i plan neva 2 leav dem.dnt wory i ave paid ma money n got ma self a T-mac rockets jersey, wich u cnt buy ne wer in the UK.It only cost me $54 wich is abot ?28 pounds wich is cheap considerin jerseys frm sport shops r abot ?30+.Ne way so im jus letin tha peopl of houston kno ur not alone,im holdin strong 4 tha rockets in the UK. um ye i wud lik it if i cud get sum feed bak on the suggestion of the rockets possibly goin 4 Lamar Odom.I kno ma idea is very unlikly 2 hapen but in ma eyes i fink he wud seal our team off.so if u cud let me kno ur thorts on it i wud muc appreciat it. Everyone. WELCOME!!! Our team forum is now bustling with activity and our quality is on the rise as well. Thanks for contributing!! Bally, welcome to you as well, but please take more time to post in a more legible way. You don't see anyone else here typing the way you do. This is not a chat room, but a message board with quality as our primary concern. Lamar Odom would be a good guy to have on our team, but we have no trade baits to get him, and I doubt there would be enough shots to go around with him, Yao and McGrady on board. His large contract would also cripple our cap flexibility in the future and we'll be capped out like New York when we give Yao his max extension. All in all, it's almost impossible that you'd see Odom in a Houston jersey anytime before he turns 35.
