i'm sure accord will post the summary, but just came back from the arena and wanted to post the result: 95 to 81, eddie had 27, odom 20 and 15, butler i think 15 (should have benn 17, but the refs didn't count one basket he made FROM ACROSS THE FLOOR!!). great win, and especially the way yao had been playing. one down, three to go until detroit. a guy at work bet me lunch today that the knicks will finish with a better record than the heat. i'm confident i'm gona collect!
And the Heat really want to play, now. Guess they wanna go for that final spot. Oh, and Rafer continues to outplay the league's best point guards. He abused Francis tonight.
cubanballer, I was there too and WOW, what a game ! I thought it was pretty funny how on the jumbotron they had Lamar Odom of all people doing the promo for the upcoming Clippers game this Friday, haha. Caron's half court shot was AMAZING, I was so pissed when the refs waived it off. I was pretty disappointed that Yao and Wang didn't actually play on the court at the same time though. The Heat are probably one of, if not the most underestimated teams in the league. They rarely ever get any national coverage, and even on NBATV they rarely ever talk about the Heat, and when they do it's usually about a former player that currently plays on another team . This winning streak they're on against all of these powerhouse teams is great, and mabye people will finally start to recognize the Heat. We got off to a bad start in the beginning of this season, mostly due to very poor team chemistry and Pat Riley stepping down at head coach, but things finally seem to be coming together. Skip is really stepping it up, over the past 3 games he has just completely dominated 3 of the top PG's in the league; Starbury, Jason Kidd, and Steve Fracis. He's a hard worker and definitely deserves more credit than he's getting. I also think it's pretty safe to say that the old Caron is finally back . I still can't get over that half court shot, infact half court is being way too modest, Caron didn't take the shot from half court, not even from the opposite 3-point line, he took the shot from the opposite FREE THROW line. Just amazing, I will remember that shot forever, and how horrible the refs are for calling it off, lol. BTW cubanballer, it's nice to see someone else making threads in this forum besides me, LOL. Here is the official recap from NBA.com: http://www.nba.com/games/20040126/HOUMIA/recap.html Here is the box score: http://www.nba.com/games/20040126/HOUMIA/boxscore.html GO HEAT
yeah man, it was great. reminds me of the marlins a little bit, not that i think we'll win it all, but how at the beginning of the season no one gave them a chance. i personally blame riley somewhat, his quitting right before the season has to have been problematic in the locker room, but they seem to be gellin' nicely now. caron shot from 78 feet away according to the news. he shot off a rebound, not even a pass, you had to be there to believe it. you can also see on tv that the buzzer does sound before his shot. anyway, he made it and we won.
Just to show how incredibly dominant Skip has been over the last 3 games, he held Starbury, Steve Francis, and Jason Kidd to a combined 8 of 39 shooting.
