3 Top Reasons for the Raps poor performance so far:

Alright fans, the Raps are not having the season many people (including myself) would have expected them to have. So what are YOUR top 3 reasons as to why the performance of the Raptors has been lackluster thus far into the season?

Mine are:

3. Carter becoming less and less of a contributor and leader as the season progresses

2. weak weak bench

1. lack of a dominant BIG MAN to provide a presence in the middle

 

3. Lack of an aggressive offensive team mate that can compliment Carter. (Rose is passive although he has improved the last couple of games)

2. Terrible bench

1. Crappy attitude on this team. (Bunch of whinners)

 

1. bad attitude

2. too much sleepwalkin

3. wack leader = Vince

bonus *not workin as team, everybody wanderin off on their little dream land...

 

Vince, Vince, and Vince. If you want another reason I'd say a terrible bench, and lack of effort on both sides of the floor. If you'd like reason's why I said Vince you can refer to my post in the Chicago/Raptors thread.

 

All obvious reasons that have been discussed million times before ( doesn't mean they ain't right ) ..

Let's shut our mouths and see what happens vs Philly .. cus we ain't making no difference

 

u know whats really sad tho, I just watched some of clips from Vince's old days in North Carolina, his footsteps were great back then. He hustled, ran, and most of all, was able to finish off the fastbreaks, which he can't seem to do it as effectively now. Plus remember, he cleared the court, and blew past Cuttino Mobley for a game-winnin dunk? That just makes me pissed off even more, T.Dot was a crazy place back then, we were ALIVE. Is it just me or does Vince run really weird? It looks like he's hoppin around, tryin not to hurt his ankle or some ****, it looks funny as hell.

 

OK, I'm going to vent now......

Not working as a team is a huge part of it. They don't do it defensively or on offense. Instead of feeding off each other, they are focused on doing only their job! If there is anything that will kill a team, it's individuals. Just look at the Mavericks' start to the season. At least they realize the difference now and have started to piece things together. The raptors offense is to simple. It's a clear out for Vince every position with the option of setting a high screen (They don't even roll off the screen!). There is no movement from other players. Guys are never in position, nobody knows where to go, it's a mess! Milt Palacio drives lane, but his layups are like an 8 year olds. How can you not know how hard a layup needs to be when you play in the NBA. His layups don't even touch the rim half the time. I would love to get Theo Ratliff to the Raptors. Give them two great shot blockers (Bosh and Ratliff). Vince needs an offense with movement. Making him create everything by himself, will kill his knees and no wonder he takes 80 of his shots from the perimeter. He's probably tired from trying to beat guys every possession. KO please run an offense!

iv watched almost every game, and have no clue what your talkin about

on topic, i think a new coach, choaching a new team, learning a new system, is a perfect explanation for inconsistant play.

vince's up and down play is another reason

lack of depth and a solid big man/low post defender caps off our problems

1.terrible bench , they really have to step up if they want to do something.
2.lack of defense..I think bosh and marshall are way overrated..
3.vince..wtf is wrong with him? he needs to attack the basket the hell with last injuries.

lack of defense?

what are you talking about? the raptors are one of the best defensive teams this year. we are 5th in the league in points allowed per game, 6th in opposing fg%, 6th in opposing 3pt fg%, 2nd in allowing assists, and the raptors are 5-1 when scoring 100+ points. which means we dont score 100 points often, but when we do, we almost impossible to beat.

raptors are 14th in the league in blocks per game, which isnt great, but isnt bad either, we're in the middle of the pack, and thats without a legit center. bosh is 29th in the league in blocks, leading ALL rookies, and donyell is 17TH in the league in blocks!!

Other than the last 3 games, the Raptors are one of the top 5 definsive teams in the league, and numbers don't lie ...

amen bro, i swear to god some of these people post in here, and havnt even watched a single raptors game. where some of these opinions come from is beyond me

 

This team virtually has no chemistry. It only has effort and caution. Vince is no longer explosive. Also you have people like Bosh injured. Your team is very injury prone.

Vince has always ran that way sometimes its more noticable and sometimes he doesn't doit to much

I don't think you know what you're saying. First of all the defense doesn't depend on Marshall and Bosh, and another thing, Donyell Marshall is averaging 17points and 10rpg as a Raptor, not only is he getting it done offensively, hes doing a fine job defensively, hes quick enough to defend players on the perimeter, and he can defend in the post while picking up 10 rebounds a game.

Bosh is a rookie, you can't expect that much from him and I think hes doing a great job as the 4th option on this team. When he gets his fair share of shots hes capable of putting up 15-20 a game, and his effort rebounding and blocking shots this season have been very impressive. You can't possibly be watching Raptor games because they're both doing what they're capable of doing. Those are two players on the Raptors that so far I would never consider overrated, they are far from it.

See, its not just me... but nah he didnt run like that all the time. In his rookie year, he was just as fast and explosive as LeBron and Dwyane Wade, he hustled, he ran the fastbreak and did a really quick and strong dunks, it was crazy, now he runs like a grandpa. W/e, I know he's better but it just feels weird. As far as the physical ability, he's not the same.

1.Your an Idiot buddy.(he didn't even know who Chris Kaman was.... he thought Keith Bogans should be starting in the rookie game)
