<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Karl Malone left the Utah Jazz after 18 seasons, his heart on his sleeve and his tongue held, without a public hint of bitterness or resentment. His diplomatic silence is over. Malone ripped his former team Wednesday for staging a skit that poked fun at him and Kobe Bryant during Saturday's Lakers-Jazz game.</div> http://www.dailynews.com/Stories/0,1413,20...1921619,00.html
Dont get that one. How come they are so after 18 great seasons he played there! They should show some respect to Malone. He doesnt deserve that kind of treatment. I dont get that Utah Jazz did stuff like that! I wonder how the players of Utah Jazz reacted when this happened??

He's done so much for that franchise for 18 seasons, and this is how they pay him back? Even Kobe himself was pissed off. Check out this quote that Karl said. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"That's disrespectful. And I'll never forgive them for that," he said. "I guarantee you, I'll have the last say on this. You can print that. That little skit they did, it'll cost them, I guarantee you."</div> Can't wait for that.
Hard to believe Utah would do that to there former franchise player of 18 years. The fact that they made reference to kobes situation is a disgrace to the NBA, just unnaceptable.
I was at this game!!!! It was extremely funny! The owner "answered" a cell phone, and it was "Karl Malone" saying things like "Please let me come home, the fans in L.A. don't like me, they don't even cheer for me." The hick-voice impersonating him went on for a while. They at the end it said: "Well, I guess it could be worse. I guess I could be Kob" and then the owner hung up the phone really fast before the voice could finish saying "Kobe Bryant". The crowd loved it. I think the Lakers knew about it ahead of time because they were in a huddle and I couldn't see Kobe's reaction.
Unbelievably disappointing skit by the Jazz. After all Karl has done for them, they pull some ******** like this on him, thats just pathetic. I've never seen or heard of a team disrespect their best player of all time like that. Malone has done nothing to deserve that kind of treatment and from the crowd. Malone thanked the fans on TV, and from what I also heard he also put a flyer in the Utah newspapers thanking the fans also. Hearing how the fans react like they did is just sad. Poor sports Utah, I'm glad you guys didn't land Maggette.
Whoa, I'm really suprised. 18 seasons, all he has done for the fans and the Jazz team as a franchise, this is what they do to him? How about they just respect his decision to sign with the Lakers, and leave it at that? This was taking it way too far. Hell, and Malone didn't even really care about the statements made about him. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Malone accepted the jokes about himself, but said the reference to Bryant crossed the line.</div> And I thought Denver would be the only place to do something like that.
Jazz thought it was funny, it's totally not... that disrespected Karl's decision to leave the Jazz for the Lakes... and Kobe. Larry Miller and his organization should be ashamed of this, they shouldn't show up too often at Delta Center, they'd be better off fishing at the lake.
Wow, I never saw such entertainment at Warriors games ... anyways, I hate the Lakers [hehe, so dunno what i'm doing here] ... but yeah, what the Jazz did was Looooow. Totally uncalled for. I like Karl Malone, and I hope he comes back soon and someday will kick the Jazz's azz... [oh, oops.] ass. Go Kings!!!!!!!!
The Jazz are a disgrace! Oh well, it made it that much more delicious when Kobe led the Lakers to a win, on the Jazz home court! :bigthumbu
Haha, just found an article, that mentions the Jazz were fined for their little skit. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The other lesson of the week is mess with Bryant at your own risk. The Utah Jazz was fined $15,000 by the NBA for a skit in last Saturday's game involving a "phone call" from a Karl Malone impersonator who complained about his life in L.A. and concluded "It could be worse ? I could be Ko-" before the call clicked off. The league billed the Jazz for "ridiculing an opposing player," but clearly the main offense was making light of Bryant's legal situation rather than hurting Malone's feelings. After all, the Dallas Mavericks weren't fined for a cartoon in which they mocked the weight of "Shaq Albert." That means the Jazz was hit for 15 large ones for one syllable. Ouch.</div> I would also like to add(this is funny stuff) <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">On Friday, a fan seated about 10 rows behind the Laker bench shouted derogatory comments at Bryant during quiet moments in the third quarter. Bryant turned around, other fans pointed out the offender and Bryant and Malone went to security and had the fan escorted out of the building. Oh, and don't think Bryant isn't dangerous on the court even with one hand and arm out of service. About two hours before tipoff, Bryant stood at half court, launching left-handed shots. He took $40 from Laker radio broadcaster Mychal Thompson in Utah with a lefty jump shot, and he pocketed another 40 from Thompson Friday then forced another reporter to do 200 push-ups after he made two more.</div> LMAO, all from the same article at latimes.com Link
I am not he biggest LA fan or the biggest Malone fan.. But Malone OR Kobe didnt deserve that.. Malone did too much for that team for them to do something like that... Its a shame that the man that helped get them to a NBA Championship series was joked at.. It wouldnt have been a big deal if Malone and Kobe where ok with it, but they wernt.. The Jazz shouldnt of been more cautious about doing this skit..
Real classy move by the Jazz and their fans, alienate your franchises greatest player. Brilliant. Oh well, looks like those morons just cost themselves a Karl Malone, John Stockton jersey ceremony. Karl is now much more likely to go into the hall as a Laker, which serves the Jazz right. Bonehead move, completely childish and totally uncalled for...Maybe the Lakers can have a nice little halftime skit where they mock Jerry West! We can all get a real good laugh out of that!!! - Yeah, enjoy the next couple of seasons with Jerry Sloan as your head coach Utah, because when he's gone, that franchise won't have any shot at a title for at least the next 3 to 4 decades. You've not only alienated your franchise player, but every future talented free agent that ends up on the open market. Hope it was worth it - Joke's on you a-holes!

Your too good of a poster to say something like that, I immediatley scrolled down to the last part of the post. Anyways, how about we pull one of those on Robert Horry? I gotta admitt, after I saw it, it was pretty funny, but was definetley uncalled for.
I wonder what the reaction would be if they left Kobe out of it... that personally was the worst part of the whole skit. Why bring Kobe into it? He's currently involved in the case, and he never played for them, so why bring him into it? Another problem is Utah was supposed to be involved in the Kobe-hunt... do ya think if he had a tiny thought of playing there in the first place, he'd now want to be on the Jazz? After the Kobe comment the next thing they did was NOT apologize to Karl. Larry Miller didn't say anything for a few days... it was the mascot who made the first apology to Malone and his wife. So the fact they impressonated Karl Malone wasn't even the bad part of the skit... I have no idea how you could say "Yeah let's put this on the PA system" -- Larry Miller obviously has some bad feelings over Malone leaving. Some of the stuff was funny, but very little, and those few lines should have been it... no idea why they carried it on for so long and then just kept digging themself into it. I'm not against making a little fun of former players, I know the Suns usually give each other a few jabs now and then... but it's always in fun, and never hurtful like that. If they wanted to do this skit, they should have waited until Malone had retired, because the fact he is on the Lakers, and the Jazz have a fake call of him wanting to come back because "they won't pass me the ball" amoung other things, is bad. And of course leave the Kobe comment out...
