Thats the latest rumour,Bulls and Clippers are in talks about a trade that would send Marcus Fizer and Jamal Crawford to L.A for Melvin Ely and Quentin Richardson This trade only makes sense for the Clippers if they know Kobe Bryant will consider signing for them in the off-season.If he doesn't, can they really rely on Jamal Crawford to play the two guard successful in the west? the talent in there, sadly so is the attuide.
Hmmm, questionable move for the Clips. The Bulls, on the other hand, get a great deal, one that Johnny Pax probably has his mouth watering about. Jamal is a great talent, no doubt, but talent to play what position? He's an iffy point guard and an iffy shooting guard. He's a combo guard, and that just doesn't seem to work on the Bulls. The Clips, with no real point guard, probably won't see it as much of a problem. And Q is the scoring two guard that the Bulls have come to covet, and would team up nicely with Kirk. So the deal could work for both teams. The reason I put a question mark next to the deal for the Clips is the same reason Allnet mentioned. Is Jamal big enough or tough enough, or just plain good enough to compete regularly in the West? If Maggette and Brand are consistent, then that matter will be less worrisome. But even then, Jamal has got to be a playmaker in addition to trying to fill part of Richardson's scoring void, and that could end up being a problem, with the Clippers shopping for a replacement in a couple years. This reminds me of the Larry Hughes situation in Golden State a couple years back.
Why would they do this? for the clippers Q is a awesome player and ely is a good big man. Fizer is just a complete bust that is lazy, crawford is a hog i hate this move for the clippers. put jaric instide of q.
Crawford is 6-5 by the way, making him a tall enough shooting guard. I don't see the Clippers will agree to this trade without another player, like Corie Blount or Kendall Gill.
I like this deal..the thought of Q rich gone sucks, but he probably wont sign back this off season..so why not get something for him...they can make a run at Kobe now, if his legal problems allow him to play...this clipper team could look amazing next year w/ kobe.. Crawford Kobe Maggette Brand Kaman...that would almost make them definite contenders....Kobe would have an unselfish big man to play w/ a really nice SF who can dropp 20+ on any given night, Jamal could play teh poiint.
I dont like that trade at all. Q is playing great and I hope they will resign him in the offseason, but trading him and Ely for a guy who can't really fit into neither guard position and another big guy doesn't make any sense. The Clippers have Paga, Kaman, Elton, and Wilcox, and there already isn't enough time for Paja, so the last thing we need is another big man. If the Clips were ever to trade Q and Ely, it should be for a proven TRUE pointguard, not those two.
Honestly I dont think that Jamal Crawford will reach his full potenial until he can go to a good team . And play a little combo 2-guard off the bench like a bobby Jackson. Thats the role I see Crawfords carreer going. He would be instant offense off the bench on a team with a good starting back court. If he goes to the Clippers they will more than like try to turn him back into a starting point guard, he isnt.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting franchise3:</div><div class="quote_post">Crawford is 6-5 by the way, making him a tall enough shooting guard. I don't see the Clippers will agree to this trade without another player, like Corie Blount or Kendall Gill.</div> I didn't say he isn't tall enough, I said he isn't big enough. And he isn't. As a young player, it was a stretch for him just to get over 165 pounds. Now he's up to like 185 or 190, but his frame is still rather frail. My point is that in the West, with larger lineups on average, he's gonna be hardpressed most nights, not every night. But for that reason, and the fact that in the playoffs you've gotta be strong to compete, i doubt the Clips will bite.
I hate to see Q go, I would very well like to see him re-sign after the year is over, but we don't know how definite that is. So I'm going to have to agree with QRich3. This could be a risky move for the Clips, I'd hate to see the duo break up, but Crawford is a nice addition to the Clippers, gives them a scoring guard in return who could hopefully understand his role on a team like the Clips. Only thing I see the Clippers losing on this is Q-Rich's shooting presence. He's a threat from downtown, and keeps the Clippers in games because of that. As far as the Bulls POV, hell why not make a trade? They literally have nothing to lose at this point. Then again, this is just a rumor, I don't expect it to happen.
