The mental toll of losing has been joined by the physical toll of a taxing, NBA season. "We're pretty banged up right now, but that's just something else we have to fight through," Davis said. "And we will." Although the Magic finished Monday's game in Cleveland with four key players on the sideline, all are listed as probable for tonight's game against the Washington Wizards.</div> Full Story <u>New Jersey</u> <div class="quote_poster">Quoting :</div><div class="quote_post">The New Jersey Nets have named Lawrence Frank interim head coach, Nets President/General Manager Rod Thorn announced today. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not released. Frank replaces Byron Scott, who took over the team January 27, 2000. ?We appreciate all of the work, effort, sacrifice and success that Byron has produced over the past three and a half seasons,? said Thorn. ? I felt that at this time it is necessary to take the team in a different direction, and I am confident Lawrence will be an outstanding leader for our team.? </div> Full Story Keys to the Game <u>Orlando</u> For the Magic to take this one, they need to set the tempo of the game. They cannot keep up with Jason Kidd on the fast break, and will get pounded if it is not controlled. The Magic must rebound the basketball as well. Once a Net grabs a rebound, Kidd looks to start the fast break. Controlling the glass is essential. <u>New Jersey</u>The Nets need to contain McGrady. He can light it up any given day, and has played solid against the Nets. They need to get off to a fast start as well. Once the Magic fall behind, they often have problems catching back up. McGrady, Bogans, Gooden, and Lue have all been injured this past week. Look for the Nets to attack and take advantage of that. Ice's Prediction Nets by 7 Sorry for the quick one, enjoy the game!
I say Magic by 2 in an upset too Nets fans. Tracy should come to play along with bogans and gordan. Let's just hope everyone can respond together and pull of a W.
Yeah, both went to Stanford. I'm going to pick the Nets by 10. I just think that the 4th game in 5 days and with our injuries, we will get fatigued and won't be able to keep up with the Nets fast break. Look for Tmac to have 35+ though.
Too much for the Magic... Its not going to be a good game for them.. It will be a lucky break if they do win though.. Edit: Seeing as no one replied.. Ill just edit my post with my post game comments.. Where am I going to start? Tracy McGrady- He was just throwing up shots by the 4th Guarter rolled around.. He just didnt look like he was into the game at all.. Howard- After he cut his elbow.. And maybe even before.. He too was just not into the game.. He looked terrible.. Gooden- He played alot with Howard being out.. He was ok.. Wasnt a factor offensively.. Bogans- He was one of the few that showed up.. If i am right, I think he hit all his shots, including Three- Three pointers.. I think he missed one foul shot though. I was extremely disspointed to see him on the bench alot.. Giricek was non-factor, and Bogans was hot... I dont know why he wasnt in.. He was shooting fabulous.. Steven Hunter- He really played defense.. I payed attention to him and noticed how he got on someone and made them miss.. He ripped down rebounds and really played well.. He should of played alot more.. Declercq- He played ok.. He had a big Three-Point play in the first half that i thought should of sparked the magic.. But really didnt.. Oh well.. Zaza and Williams- They didnt play enough.. With Gooden, Howard and Tracy obviously not playing well.. Why didnt these two step in at times? Even Gaines.. Williams has been playing very decent lately.. Strickland- He stuck through.. He, Bogans and Hunter really where the only ones out there in my mind... Strickland just did his best, There was nothing much to do.. Lue also was kinda silent offensively.. The Nets... They torched us.. Kidd torched us... Then Harris Torched us.. And the fact that the Magic where to worn out to get down and defend.. Giricek's forced charge was one of the only times they stopped a fast break.. Even though Orlando out rebounded New Jersey.. Kenyon Martin still had more Rebounds himself than any single player.. Kidd the same, who was dangerously close to a Triple-Double.. I actually sat and watched the game instead of getting upset over what they did.. Ive gotta cut them slack.. They are coming off a game against washington, a day before that they faced Cleveland and Houston Back to back.. I can see if they where warn out.. But Johnny as to play guys like Gaines, Shammond, Zaza and Hunter if the rest are worn...
man ..we lost..T-Mac was TOO UNSELFISH! btw , did you see that final 2 minutes? Bogans Hunter Williams Zaza and Gaines hehehe ill love to see that early in a 2nd quater..anyways I think T-Mac shouldve had a lot more shots...even if he wasnt hot it will give opportunities with rebounds... edit:i didnt read ur stuff zerotoone..anyways yes Hunter is really good in the defensive end , him and williams should get more playing time ive been saying this since the beginning of the season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting :</div><div class="quote_post">Jason Kidd, Lucious Harris and the New Jersey Nets appear comfortable playing for Lawrence Frank. Kidd collected 33 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists and Harris scored all of his 12 points in the fourth quarter as the Nets defeated the Orlando Magic, 89-79, to improve to 2-0 under their new coach. Frank was named coach on Monday after the Nets fired Byron Scott, who had led them to back-to-back NBA Finals. "Jason Kidd played like an MVP and Lucious Harris gave us huge production," Frank said. "It was a great team effort." Kenyon Martin added 18 points and nine rebounds before fouling out for New Jersey, which limited the Magic to 39 percent shooting (28-of-71) en route to its third straight victory following a season-high five-game losing streak. "We didn't shoot the ball well tonight and I thought that was one of the major reasons that we weren't able to pull this one out," Magic coach Johnny Davis said. "I thought we competed, we just weren't able to make shots. And down the stretch, we let Lucious Harris get loose for eight straight points, and that hurt us also." Tracy McGrady scored 22 points on 6-of-20 shooting to pace Orlando, which trailed, 67-59, entering the fourth quarter and got no closer than seven points thereafter. </div> Recap Box Score Story line of the game: New Jersey's sixth-ranked defense forced most of Orlando's 18 turnovers and the Nets converted them into 30 points.
