This was inspired by the "favorite squad" thread....What is your all-time favorite backcourt duos....college or NBA In order, mine would be: 1. Tyson Wheeler and Cuttino Mobley (Rhode Island): They were an awesome duo who were flashy yet productive...funny thing is I always thought Wheeler was the better of the two...shows what i know 2. Shaheen Holloway and Ty Shine (Seton Hall): Very similar to the Rhode Island backcourt in their style...Shine was more of a bomber though...I'm was a huge fan of Seton Hall but i don't really follow them as much anymore...neither made it in the NBA 3. Baron Davis and David Wesley (Hornets): My favorite NBA backcourt...also the only active duo on my list....P4P two of the stronger players in the league...Both can handle the point, both can move to the 2, and they create havoc on the defensive end despite their size.. I just realized the trend...I seem to root for the "smaller backcourts"
My favorite one is Allan Houston and Stephon Marbury of the Knicks. Both are averging close to 20 ppg and they are what we should need to get into the playoffs.
Mark Price and Gerald Wilkens, Michael Jordan and Ron Harper, Tim Hardaway and Latrell Sprewell, LeBron and Wagner.

Tyson Wheeler was a Harlem Globetrotter last time I checked. And so is Shaheen Halloway, I think. Where is Ty Shine now? He really started to fall off the map once he got in that fight because he didnt pass the ball enuff. My List: 1) Sam Cassell and Kerry Kittles (New Jersey Nets)- Sam averaged 19.6ppg & 8.0apg And Kerry Kittles averaged 17ppg in their one full season together. They were starting to turn heads as one of the better up & coming backcourts in the league. But the following season '98-99 Sam got injured and missed most of the lock out shorten season. And was traded later that year to the bucks. That backcourt could have been special if given the time. 2)Allen Iverson and Victor Page (Georgetown Hoyas)- This was the Steve Francis/Cuttino Mobley backcourt of college basketball. They would give opposing teams non-stop buckets. Not alot of people like Victor Page's game. Haters say he shot to much, but the kid made nothing but big shots his whole college carreer. To this day he is still on of my favorite all-time college ballers. 3) Eric Barkley & Ron Artest/Bootsy thorton(ST John's)-Ron Artest was the perimeter mucsle on the team & he could score. But Bootsy use to come off the bench & get automatic buckets. He was the Bobby Jackson of the team. Eric Barkley was the typical point guard he could get in the lane anytime he wanted but couldnt really shoot the perimeter jumper with any consistency. They lead St. Johns to the elite 8 one year. Bu they lost to an Ohio State team lead by Micheal Redd & Scoonie Penn, another fine backcourt. Back Court Honorable Mentions: Sam Cassell/Ray Allen(bucks),Sam Cassell/Latrell Sprewell/Trenton Hassell(t-wolves), Micheal Jordan/BJ Armstrong(Bulls), Kenny Anderson/Drazen Petrovic(Nets)

1)Jalen Rose & Jimmy King (Michigan) - Jalen the playmaker and King the defensive stopper. Loved these guys. 2)Allen Iverson & Victor Page (Georgetown) - Henacy done covered these cats. 3)Isiah Thomas & Joe Dumars (Detroit Pistons) - Not alot I can say 'bout Zeke and Joe D that nobody don't already know. 4)Tim Hardaway & Mitch Richmond (Golden State) - Run TMC(w/Mullin)..these cats would absolutely run you out the gym with they game. Had these three stayed together it woulda been hell on the League. 5)Corey Beck & Scotty Thurman (Arkansas) - Too bad Thurman made the jump too soon. 6)Greg Anthony & Anderson Hunt (UNLV) -The Runnin' Rebels backcourt...Hunt is one of the greatest 3-Point shooters in NCAA history IMO (cluth ones at that)....Anthony was a very good consistent point guard.... Well that's mine..I have lots more tho
O yea, I forgot about Carmelo Travieso and Edgar Padilla for UMASS...They were Camby's Puerto Rican henchmans. Those guys were like brothers....

Everybody seemed to forget this one and I wanted to be the one who mentioned it. My two favorite backcourt duos are: 1) Isiah Thomas & Joe Dumars 2) Chauncey Billups & Richard Hamilton What can I say? I'm slightly biased, although the first one ranks as one of the best all time.

Leave the young guy alone. This is like the 8th time that my age has become somebody's point in a reply. I don't have seniority on anybody (Anybody intelligent enough to have a reasonable conversation, at least), so it is hard making points because there are always points that the person could make that I never knew about. Still, in the last few favorite threads that I have seen you reply in, you have stolen the Pistons team/players away from me! It is all fun though.

And a respected by true basketball fans. Its just that if you were a diehard bulls, celtics & Lakers fan in the 80's/early 90's you didnt & still dont like any of the bad boy pistons. Their are alot of celtics, Bulls & Lakers fans on this website. But we deep down have nothing but respect of what the pistons & Thomas/Dumars did in the late 80's/early 90's

I didn't actually think people forget about them, just that they are not their favorites because of the reasons that you mentioned. It is just very hard for other fans to show any respect for players on the rival team. I can't say I'm any different because I will never give Jermaine O'neal any credit for being a good player. BigNasty: I wish I was about 17 too, we have something in common. (Other than being fans of the Bad Boys and Fab Five)
Hey shaheen Holloway, As in 5'11 point guard holloway?, well he played for an englih team last year, here in uk, A team called london Towers, He taught my younger brother, When he was running a training sessions on mondays, I used to talk to him, He complimented my game, Played him in a one on one once, crossed me up twice i was begging him to stop lol, I dont know what happened to him though...I also know he was supposed to be new yorks finest point guard, he was good!
How bout John Stockton and Jeff Hornacek? Pretty good shooters. Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley: Quickest duo in NBA history.
Joe Dumars and Zeke, though I never really saw JD as much of a bad boy, he was very kind, quiet and discreet. They were one hell of a team though, great defense, offense and the small passing abiltiy conjunctioned with the handle. This is without a doubt, the best backcourt duo. There were much better duos and trios though as well, but they are among the best in this category.
