<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Lakers guard Kobe Bryant suffered a laceration to the index finger on his right hand yesterday and will be out at least a week, it was announced today. He has been placed on the injured list. Bryant received 9-10 stitches to close the wound, which occurred while he was trying to move some boxes which were in storage in his garage and accidentally put his hand through a glass window. Bryant will not travel with the team to Toronto or Indianapolis but is expected to meet the Lakers in Cleveland. He will be re-evaluated at that time. Bryant, the Lakers leading scorer (9th in the NBA), is averaging 21.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 36.4 minutes. </div> Speechless. Yea when i heard there was breaking news concerning kobe, i thought that all charges have been dropped, he was seriously injured, or that the prosecution has serious evidence that the rape did happen, my heart was like throbbing, hoping none of them...this is his index finger, i am glad he is on the IL, give him more time to also heal his shoulder.
hmmm....next he be on the injured list for a hang nail. That should give him at least a good week off. And I love how he going to come back a few days BEFORE the all-star game.
Poor Kobe, especially since he just recently came back. He has handles and a great shot, any form of injury to the hand is bad for that. Hope he gets better, although this seems like a rather not that big of a deal injury. We don't really know since we're not him, so we have no right to speak for him. He'll play well in the ASG anyway probably. He always does.
*sigh* He gashed it? I'm not going to question the severity of it, but did he slam down his hand or something when he did it? Yet another blow to the Lakers. At least it's only a week or so.
The Lakers just need to go out and play hard. We cannot start worrying about injuries now. Just get healed and rested, and come back soon Kobe! What's next? Payton trips on a bananna and breaks his neck?!
Well the cut did require 10 stitches...I had an inch-long gash above my right eyebrow that only needed 5. So, while going on the IL for a whack finger may be a bit trivial, I'm guessing the wound has to be pretty big/deep--enough to pop open in a game if you get out on the floor right away...and then you're screwed.
Damn. Sucks for Kobe, but at least Shaq is back. It'll also give him some more time to get that shoulder healed up.
What is there to say? lol Not much, Kobe just had a minor accident, has to get treated with stitches. LAkers are seeming to have the injury bug tho... hopefully after AS break it will all back to normal.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Crossover:</div><div class="quote_post">Shaq is back, but is Shaq back? You saw him in Seattle - a bit of rust for you.</div>Well, wouldn't you expect him to be rusty after sitting for so long and not really being able to practice and stuff? He'll be aight

I hope Kobe is back by the time the Lakers make the trip to Miami on February 10th, I want to see him play in person . Here is another article about what happened to Kobe and it goes into depth with Phil Jackson's opinion on the situation and is a lot more detailed: http://www.pe.com/sports/lakers/stories/PE...t_31.a0aad.html
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting jump:</div><div class="quote_post">How do you do that? </div>easy, he accidently got mad at his wife and accidently punched the window Or maybe he did like me. My gf locked me out of the house one night after I had gone to the movies w/my homie, his lady and her daughter. I had drank a 64oz bottle of old english and was feeling a nice buzz when I got home. Anyways, I tried lifting the window out of the track so I could climb through it and into the house, I broke the window and got a nice slice on my left wrist. The lady at the hospital was treating my like I was suicidal or something. I told her no worries, im left handed, if that were the case it would have been my right wrist slit

We all know Kobe probably rushed himself to get back on the court, because he is so dedicated to the game. But this setback isn't too bad after all, especially since Shaq is back. If Shaq had not came back, then this would be a whole different story. Hopefully we can win some games with him out the lineup, thought we had that game last night against the T-Wolves. Yeah, it sucks if you order tickets early and then their star player is hurt. Now I know in your case you have season tickets, but I saw a Clipper/Sixer game in LA earlier in the year and AI was hurt.

The last time the Sixers were in Miami, a few days earlier AI was suspended by the league for making "obscene gestures" to the crowd so I was really worried he would miss the game against the Heat and I wouldn't get to see him play, but luckily the suspension was short and his first game back was when they played the Heat. When the Warriors came to play the Heat, J-Rich wasn't playing, I think he was injured, so that was pretty disappointing, although we did win .
This is so ridiculous.....well it does give Kobe more time to rest his shoulder, and maybe Kobe next time should be more aware of his surroundings. I dont even want to imagine how my hand would feel if I accidentally put it through glass. OUCH!!

But it's cool, it's just freaky accident for Kobe but it gave him unexpected benefit to rest his shoulders... although he looked good he said he's still bothered by the shoulder. When I saw the news for the first time, I actually freaked out because I thought he aggravated his shoulder... this could be Vince Carter 2, but luckily he didn't... Kobe's got one of the best dedication to the game, I believe he'll take great care of himself and play just like his usual-self when he comes back...
