<div align="center"></div> Position: C Height: 7' 0'' Weight: 245 Born: 10/19/1965, in Black Mountain, NC, USA High School: Charles D. Owen, in Swannanoa, NC College: North Carolina, North Carolina Drafted: 1986, 1st round (1st overall) How many ya'll young cats are down with Brad? Or better yet how many ya'll ever seen him play? He was one of the best EC centers with a good all around game...it's too bad he got injured and got his career shortened. :bigthumbu to #43 One a sidenote,he is possibly my favorite basketball announcer/color man...I love listenin' to 'em...his accent reminds me of my uncle... <div align="center">Brad Daugherty's stats</div>
Brad, the Cavs all time leading scorer. Brad would play his best against the NBA's elite centers, always having a better game stat wise. I love him when he does college games! He is so, I don't know, barber shop, front porch, backyard style of commentary that is just hilarious. Glad to see a thread about him, can't wait to see what others think.
I was at the game where his number was retired. From what ive seen, he was really good. this is my first post, so whats up everybody
Brad was the man. Great jump hook and a huge defensive presents in the middle. I was disappointent on how his career ended. He was young. He had about 3 more years left in him before he retired because of back injury.
Another great name from the "Old School" Big Nasty. It's nice for all of us geriatrics in here to discuss our favorite players from the pre-Kobe, TMac, VC era. For sure though, Brad was one of the rare big men who had great touch, quick feet, and supreme intelligence. I saw his entire career, as short-lived as it was, and can't help but think of what could have been for Brad. Eight years, 10,000 plus points, 5,000 plus boards (with two years of only 41 and 50 games). Had he played another 6-7 seasons, BD almost certainly would have been a HOF'er. I also really enjoy his commentary on ESPN, he's insightful and very entertaining. I also think he would make a great coach if he ultimately decides to go in that direction. Another great Tarheel from the basketball factory at UNC.

But back to Brad,he wa somethin' else...I was never a Cavs fan per say,but I did like Brad and Harp and I would have loved to see those two stay together and win a title..Cavs had a great nucleus with Mark Price,Brad and Harp then they had to bring in the 'immortal' Danny Ferry and ship Harp off to LA. What coulda been..... <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ogshowtime:</div><div class="quote_post">I also really enjoy his commentary on ESPN, he's insightful and very entertaining. I was thinkin' he did but I might be wrong.
He did, but once Roy Williams' name was dropped, it was over. I grew up on Brad, Larry, Hot Rod and all them. Brad was always one of the top 5 Centers behind Ewing, Olajuwon and David Robinson, but he was the best passer. The way he and Mark ran the pick n roll! Heard he's into stock car racing like his boy Larry Nance, although I think Larry races funny cars. I don't know if we'll ever see basketball played like that again, with the fundamentals playing a big role. Players rely on their athleticism too much nowadays, but it works.
Man Brad had a swet baseline turnaround. I wish we would bring him in to teach Z to turn to the baseline instead of always going middle.
I'm not sure if he still has it, but Nance used to have a custom built, orange, '69 Camaro with custom plates, that simply read, "Catch22."

He was always my favorite growing up and it was sad what injuries did to him...I would have loved to see him play a few years with Terrel Brandon in the Gund for Mike Fratello.
