Carlos Arroyo or Jiri Welsch? Who will be more likely to claim the title of "point god of the future" or "the next steve nash"? 2003-2004 statistics (as of 30 January 2004) C. Arroyo: 13.4 ppg, 5.4 apg, 2.4 rpg, 1.2 spg, 2.5 tpg, 28.6 mpg (.474 FG%, .275 3P%) Jiri Welsch: 8.9 ppg, 2.2 apg, 3.2 rpg, 1.3 spg, 1.4 tpg, 25.8 mpg (.441 FG%, .436 3P%) Or, let me put it like this, if you were going to own an NBA team needing a point in 2005-2006 season, who will you pick? You're only given one chance to pick, and that is NOW... (don't regret) Oh, I forgot my own pick: Jiri Welsch... definitely the better 3p shooter now, could develop like Nash it's my gut feeling
Both of them are young but Carlos has the better stats but a think a guard also needs a good 3pt%.Jiri is alot better then Carlos' % and I too have a gut feeling Jiri is the "point guard of the future. So I agree with Fishball.
I think Welsch has far better potential and also plays a better all-around game...he will be somethin special in the near future...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting HoustonHoopa33:</div><div class="quote_post">I think Welsch has far better potential and also plays a better all-around game...he will be somethin special in the near future...</div> yeah, "potential" is the word... carlos is very good right now IMO but his potential is not as much as Jiri's... one guy actually posted to Marty Burns (from Sportsillustrated) in his chat box, making bold predictions that he would average 20 ppg and 8 apg next season, to Marty's surprise, because the only guy doing that now and in 2002-2003 season (20+ppg and 8+ apg) have been the one and only Sebastian Telfair's cousin big Stephon Marbury :biggrin2:
carlos arroyo is great, but i'd take welsch because of that height, especially when he plays the point.
