MIAMI -- The next three are against the Hornets, Pistons and Nets, so there was little room for error against the Clippers.

Given an opportunity against one of the worst in the West before taking on some of the elite of the East, the Heat took advantage with a 97-88 victory Friday night.

"You want to go into a stretch like that coming off a good effort," coach Stan Van Gundy said.

Although just 20-27, the Heat has shown it can compete with the league's lesser half, improving to 12-8 against teams with losing records. It also continued its recent home success, winning for the 10th time in its past 13 at AmericanAirlines Arena.</div>

The Heat just played a solid game, I was also glad to see Udonis starting instead of Malik Allen. The Clippers played a sloppy game and had a lot of careless plays.

Corey's monster windmill dunk was spectacular, but what's up with his arm sleeve? Iverson wannabe?

Lots of players wear sleeves now. Steve Francis wears one on his leg, for example. The players wear it for a reason, they need it to help their arm muscle.

How does it help their arm muscles? It's just spandex, lol.

It probably helps concentrate those muscles together or something lol. After the players do all that lon-range shooting, their muscles probably get tense.
