I think PG is the hardest because you have to set up plays and chemistry is a must with all your teammates. As a SG in college i always saw the coach get on our PG the most. What do you think?

Well, from a physical standpoint, I think center or power forward would take the cake. But from a mental aspect, it would have to be pg cause he's basically an extension of the coach out on the floor, he's got to be a good decision maker, he basically controls the tempo of the game for the most part.

Exactly what I would say... I played PG, it's fun but also tough. I loved setting others, with more skill, up to do their thing... but I've had plenty of bad times. I've watched my bigger teammates banging in the paint and that is tough from a physical aspect, something I wouldn't be able to do. So I agree, mentally the 1 is toughest, but physically it's obviously a 4 or 5. I doubt too many people will argue with this... although I know some ballhogs are going to say SF/SG are tough because of the skill involved

All the positions are tough in general. But I would have to say the Center and Power forwards a.k.a. Big Guys. They just take so much punoshment down there

All positions but i think the toughest position is when Ron Artest is defending you. [IMG] He could break your ribs.

I would have to say point guard also. It is without a doubt the toughest position to play. As the point guard you are unlitimately responsible for your team's success or failure. You are the coach on the court and it is your job to make sure everything gets executed. The point guard also must know how to deal with pressure, know how to control temp, and recognize the opposing team's defense and know what offense to call to attack it.

I'd say point guard. This position is the one that everything else starts from. Also, if you look at the entire span of the league, there are most stars and quality players at the 1 than at the 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Also, the entire pressure of the game rests on the point guard. If the point doesn't get stuff going, its quite concievable that the entire team's plans will be thrown into disarray, and that the game will turn into a loss.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting starman85:</div><div class="quote_post">You gotta say point guard. That is the positin that the most people are able to play size'wise, but in termso f asbility and phisicality, you just can't mamage it as well. Those byos are rough, and they'll rough you up in particular, jhust to let you know that. You don't always realize that, but theree areseveral thin gs hyou gotta do as a bohy, an d as point guard they outnumber the other posotins. So its teh hardest. You gotta know the plays, what the coach wants, and how to land the big stuff. All that addsu up to be the biggest ting in pro bball and collegaeaws well.</div>can you try that again, this time in english:mrgreen:

Definitely the PG, so many things ride on this guy's shoulders. Firstly they have to have the best passing, vision and speed of their team. Meaning they'd have to pull off so many things so quickly while remaining accurate and good at it as well. They have to do the most thinking as they have to score and make, the shots for other people. Basically the word "playmakers" sums them up as they have to be able to make others play. They have to be unselfish, reliable and clutch, meaning very dependable. That's what I think anyway.

the point is the toughest! your team depends on the man to run the system, he fails, everything fails... aside of being in the system, ocassionally he's got to make a decision to either pass to a suddenly open man or just play one-on-one in a mismatch situation and score...
