Tim Duncan is still the best player in basketball,as mentioned before his amazing post game is what puts him at the top.He just doesn't have the back-up stars another curtain MVP contender has, that takes less pressure off his shoulders.
the question is not who's the better player, is who's more valuable for the team. my test for MVP has always been "who is the player whose absence hurts his tem more?" and in this case is duncan, hands down. without him, the spurs fall more than the twolves would do without garnett. of course, the irony here is that last year was the opposite and garnett should have won. my candidates so far are: baron davis, jason kidd and kirilenko. davis kept the team in contention while mash was hurt. can you imagine the jazz without kirilenko, would we even talking about how surprising they are? and the nets without kidd will just fall apart.
Sixers without AI? Orlando without Tmac? Hawks without Abdur-Raheem? Heat without Odom? Celtics without Pierce? should each of these players be MVP's because their teams would be (more) horrible without them?

AllNet, Is having some help takes off some of your ability ??! .. Last Year, Duncan had ( Parker, Ginobli, Bowen, Robinson ) .. and all have been big time contributers and had major impacts on them winning the championship !! Kevin last year had Troy Hudsen as the next best player on the Wolves considering that Wally had On & Off nights ! Besides, KG's game has no Weakness !! .. KG is quicker than Duncan, KG is tougher than Duncan, KG is more athletic than Duncan, KG is a better leader than Duncan .. I really don't care who wins it, but let's be real

LMAO..He is tougher? where are you getting this rubbish from? You need to be real here,Duncan's post game is by far the difference in the two players, thats what makes him the best forward in the NBA,Garnett added two stars to his team is the only difference between the two teams and why the Wolves have the better team so far. Give Duncan Sam Cassell and the Spurs are a lock to win the title,A LOCK Garnett depends on his jumping abilty to be effective,Duncan has a range of moves in the low post that you just can't stop.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AIFan:</div><div class="quote_post">Peja Stojakavic-The Kings would be mediocre at best w/o him right now.</div> He's a great candidate, but I think probably solely for this year. That team is so awesome even without Webber, he needs a lot less effort. They have like the best chemistry and such great players. Also in the longrun, people like KG and Duncan will continue to carry their teams like they're doing so now. I don't think Peja will be doing some much so in the future. Therefore out of Duncan and KG, I might be bias as I like him better, KG. I love Duncan's personality, no doubt he's one of the best, plus one of the best the game has to offer. Same goes for KG, it's hard to compare the two. I'd hate to choose over whom brings more excitement, that'd just be wrong. KG seems to provide for his team just as well, they carry them night in, night out. They seem to have no weaknesses, except maybe Duncan's free throw shooting. It's a matter of saying what would happen if they go head to head. It could be anyone's game right? Possibly, but look at it this way, like they said, he's slightly better in most aspects. They're even defensively and boarding and both have undeniable offensive forces. However KG outweighs him in speed and arm length. As for those things mentioned, "toughness, athleticism and leadership", you cannot say KG is better. They are both too great at these things to compare. TD is such a great provider and player, and a really great person. Same goes for KG, it'd take a fool to not respect neither for the equally great leaders that they are. They are like two of the best workhorses this game has brought and will be two names that go down in history among with the others. I just think KG's game beats his is all. Hence I choose him. Going on about athleticism, TD plays that way to bring his team about, whatever gets his team by right. The words, make do with what you got, spring to mind whenever you speak of such a controversial topic. Toughness as I mentioned earlier, they both are hard workers, they never let up and so are both worthy.
