<div class="quote_poster">Quoting femalehooper:</div><div class="quote_post">I'd have to say the extra step they get.....and the continuation on fouls...i mean sometimes they let them get away with too much...oh yeah and the illegal defense i've yet to understand that rule anyways!</div>

Get rid of continuation? First of all... continuation is what people call the old fashion 3. Second of all... you have an Allen Iverson avatar. Allen Iverson is one the best gaurd of using the continuation foul to his advantage.

Widen the court. Zone defense is so common now days and this would help spread out the floor.

Reduce the shot clock to 20 seconds. The half court game of basketball can get boring after a while, with the shot clock reduced players would get off and run.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting :</div><div class="quote_post">First I'd take away TECHNICAL FOULS... how stupid is it that a ref gets to determine who wins because his feelings got hurt?</div>
Umm, no. Technical fouls are given out because a player/coach does something wrong. Feelings hurt or not, you can't cuss out someone and walk away from it. Just the other day Lebron tossed off his headband and cussed out someone, funny yes, but he deserved a T. Sometimes it helps calm the players down, and get them back into focus of the game. I say keep the technicals, just use them as necessary.

Widen the court? Esh, what for? This would create longer shots for the lazy players that don't feel like driving the ball. I think all that would do is lower FG%.

I think 24 is perfect shot clock. College is nuts having it more than that. Halfcourt offense is only boring when teams can't execute it. Try watchin something other than the Magic games. [IMG]

Nah, I think it would spread the floor. Since the zone is so common nowdays, it would give the players more space to knock down the open 3's. (IF they actually make the shots)

Good stuff, I haven't watched a Magic game in a while. I fell asleep last time, damn. The Magic can't execute with halfcourt or fullcourt. Just doesn't matter [IMG]

20 seconds would get the players to run back on defense. The Nets run the transition game with perfection. Everyone on the team gets back and runs. Halfcourt isn't that bad, but teams shouldn't rely on that to win ball games. If I remade the NBA, I'd want to see the players getting off and running. 24 seconds gives them enough time, 20 seconds keeps things interesting.

after the two bad calls (or non calls) against the heat in the past four games -and yes, teh one against the pistons in minny- my change for the nba: RULING REVIEWS LIKE IN THE NFL!! shaq is right, the refs suck because they are not accountable... review a couple calls per game, if upheld the team loses a timeout and that's it. nobody thinks any worse of NFL refs because they blow a call every once in a while. and the video review of buzzer shots hasn't hurt the nba one bit. it's a lot worse when everybody knows the refes blowed a call because they see instant replay on their tvs. but the league continues to bury its head in the sand on thi issue.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AIFan:</div><div class="quote_post">do you like sticking your foot in your mouth? Or do you just not know how to read? What I said was....
Meaning nobody is gonna benefit depending on their shoe size, it just won't penalize guys for being on the line 1/2" and give them 2 pts instead of 3. You can remove the foot now</div>

you're not getting it. you can't grasp the concept of what the line is. it's not for you to stand on. it's there to stand behind.

if you want the extra half inch, that's SO important to you, then you'd want the line moved forward a half inch.

thanks. please take your foot comments elsewhere and make more sense in the future.

Well, that's what I'd do. How hard is that to understand?

I'd do something about all the flops. Basketball is a mans game and if you can't take a little contact without falling down like you got ran over by a car, then you shouldn't be playing.

I'd also stop granting time outs to guys who are flying out of bounds. If you aren't going to land in bounds, then you don't really have posession of the ball.

First off, flopping is not a rule. You could get rid of the offensive (specifically, charging) foul, but that is an important rule.

I don't think that people can't take the contact, I think they just want the ref to bail them out.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there already a rule that you have to be touching the court to call a timeout. I thought they only jumped out of bounds and called timeouts in the college game these days.

I'm not sure. I knew a change was being discussed, but I couldn't remember if it was in the pros or in college. I was thinking that they might have already instituted it, but I decided to post it anyway since if they haven't done so yet, they need to.

As far as flops are conerned, guys like Vlade who look like they have been shot out of a cannon after they get bumped into, shouldn't get charging calls. A lot of times I see players who get beat off the dribble who jump right in front of the player who is driving with half of their body and then fall down. If you can't get completely in front of the guy and establish position with your feet set, then you shouldn't get the call.

LMAO. Vlade's game would be a lot more respectable if it weren't for the small aspect of him flopping every single time he makes contact with another player. I like the imagery you invoke when you say he looks like he's "been shot out of a cannon." You've definitely got a point when you say that there is too much emphasis on trying to draw a charge instead of playing sound defense and that is something that needs to change.

They implemented this rule a few years ago...players have to be in bounce in order to call timeout...

All second round picks must stay at least one year at college.

Problem is we don't know 2nd round picks until they become 2nd round picks, and if they are IN the draft they can't go back to college :P so perhaps my mandatory 1 year removed from high school rule would work better!!

Have the 1 and 1 when it comes to foul shooting, just like college. Maybe it'll put more of a emphasis on free throw shooting.

I would change up the carry call. When you are dribblin the ball high or doin a crossover high I don't think it should be carry. I'd make it so only if your hand is under the ball they call carry.

I think Iverson used to do a crossover like that that was banned.

crossover is right if there was no defens 3 second rule there would be no layups, and more importantly no dunks, and I don't no if i could live without that.
