@ Toronto Raptors (21-24) @ Philadelphia 76ers (20-28) Tuesday February 3, 2004 Arena: Wachovia Center Starting Lineups PG: Jalen Rose (TOR)/Eric Snow (PHI) SG: Alvin Williams (TOR)/Allen Iverson (PHI) SF: Vince Carter (TOR)/Glenn Robinson(PHI) PF: Donyell Marshall (TOR)/Kenny Thomas (PHI) C: Chris Bosh (TOR)/Samuel Dalembert (PHI) Keys to the Game From a Raptors Perspective *Vince must drive to the basket: When he drives in the lane, he'll likely get his share of calls, and when he ends up on the free throw line 6-10 times a game, the Raptors will likely win. *Give the ball to Donyell Marshall and Chris Bosh: All season Donyell and Chris have shown what they can do when they get the ball in the post. If they're productive theres an even bigger chance for a win. *Contain AI: Dont let AI go for 30+ points. Force him to outside shots. Try to not foul him. *Bench points: We need Mo Pete to hit some three's. Hopefully Baxter plays because he is the only big guy off the bench who can. Milt needs to finish better. *Get the crowd out of the game early: The Raptors have to play aggressive basketball from the start, getting to the line will help quite the crowd. Kid Canada's Prediction: The Raptors are coming off two tough losses against the Pistons and Lakers both by 1 point. I expect them to give the same effort in this game. In the end Bosh and Marshall will be to much for Kenny Thomas and Dalemburt to handle so Raptors by 7. thefranchise3's Prediction: Vince has done an acceptable job the last two games driving to the lane and getting fouled, but the team couldn't pull it off against the Pistons and Lakers, I'm looking for them to get some kind of revenge. Raptors by 5.
Quote:

Toronto (21-24) at Philadelphia (20-28) 7 p.m. ET Sixers Open Three-Game Homestand PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 3 (Ticker) -- The Toronto Raptors try to win their season series with the Philadelphia 76ers for the third time in four years on Tuesday when they visit the Wachovia Center. The Raptors had won six of seven meetings with the 76ers before losing all three meetings in 2002-03. They have won two of the first three games between the teams this season, including a 95-88 win here on Dec. 2. Philadelphia has split two games against Toronto this season without All-Star Allen Iverson, who has been hampered by injuries this season. Last week, Iverson missed two games with a sprained right index finger and the Sixers have split a pair of contests since he returned. Philadelphia is opening a three-game homestand after Sunday's 106-101 road loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Full NBA.com Preview Brought to you by Kid Canada and thefranchise3!
Good preview Air, I take the Raptors by 5 because of the efforts shown in the last two games against 2 quality opponents. They may be under .500 but they still have shown a lot of fight in them not to be written out
Nice preview, great layout and analysis. I think the Raptors are dead if the Sixers can hold defensively, especially Snow who's been playing so badly lately. Hopefully AI can step up and cough up the victory. It'll be great if they win, although my favorite team are the Timberwolves, from what I've heard the win was stolen from them so I hope they take this one. It's nice seeing Dalembert starting, a great chance for experience for him. Plus he's great at both ends. Hell he's better then DC at everything. Good luck fans and players. Sixers by 9.

One thing that surprises me though is his free throw shooting, it hasn't been all that good the last two games even though hes usually around 80%, hopefully if he continues the same trend of driving to the basket he can do a better job on his free throws.
if vince continues his play of the past two games, it should put us in a position to come away with a win. one positive from our loss against the lake show, is at least our shooting cant get any worse. we're bound to shoot better, and we did a good job on the glass against philly last time, so im gonna play the role of the optimist and take the raps by 7. itll be a close game, and will come down to free throws
Yea hopefully Raps will win this one, Iverson will definitely get more foul calls than Vince, but in Carters last audio he said he'd wish to get as much foul calls as the other all stars, he even mentioned Iverson getting so many calls, but he pretty much says thats life. I think if he continues to drive, he will eventually get respect from the refs and start givin him all star fouls. Either 76ers or raps will win, no predictions
* Breaking Report : Alvin Williams will not dress up for the game tonight because of a Sprained Ankle Man .. he's the best on our team in defending the answer !
Sorry but before this news I thought Rapts by 7, but now with no AW to guard AI and Milt guarding him... lets just say AI get 20+ and so does Carter. Rapts by 3 now.
OOOOOOH MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!! can i just say, i stand corrected on jerome moiso! its half-way through the 2nd quarter, and hes been playing really good ball. steals, blocks, boards, points, defense...hes doing exactly what i thought he SHOULD do. i really hope this is a sign of things to come, and not a momentary flash of brilliance. ather game notes, vince is playing really well, kickin down mad jumpers, takin it to the rack, offensive rebounds. vince looks good iverson is torching us, 19 points, 6 dimes so far =
Moiso just crammed it over Korver, pretty sick. Raptors look like they are putting in a good effort on both ends and CB4 is looking better each game after his injury. Moiso looks like he could be a main cog in the Raptors engine in a few months. Iverson is confirming that he is the quickest player in the NBA. Hopefully the Raps can keep this up in the second half, if they do then the win is theirs...book it
ouch! bosh goes down with a scary lookin ankle injury, lets all pray x-rays come up negative. he was playin really well too. moiso is loggin good minutes in his place though...continuing his strong play in the 2nd half
Sixers blew it...their second and 4th quarter play was horrible. They played great 1st and 3rd quarter, why can't they just play good for the whole game?
Well, thats luck and inconsistency, a problem thats hard to solve. anyways Im really glad we won this one like that! Just CB4 - hoping its not serious
Take THAT all you Moiso doubters!!!! Tough break for BOsh tho...hope everything will be ok with him. Sweet game for both VC and AI. They demonstrated once again exactly why they're both the franchise players for their teams. Also for everyone watching the game....I thought that Leo and Chuck were HILARIOUS today. Like when Leo's name was up on the rafters and their arguments over Carter getting enough calls or not. Funny stuff.
