I'm surprised that a thread hasn't been started on this topic yet. By now well all must have noticed that the Lakers are suffering excessive injuries from players usually classified as iron men. Let's focus on Kobe and Shaq.

Some think that Shaq is faking injuries out of anger from the lack of an extension offer. So he sits on the bench to prove that the Lakers are his team, and that they cannot win without him. In addition, Shaq proves that Kobe cannot lead a team.

Then Kobe does the same (although his injuries appear to be more valid), in an attempt to make Shaq play by himself. Seriously, who puts their hand through a window?

I think you get where I'm going with this. Does anyone else think that these injuries are just psychological attempts for one player to rattle the other and prove their respective points to Laker management. I am very interested to hear some other opinions on this issue.

He was probably doing some re-arranging and had his radio on when they announced another woman has come forward with allegations. I'm sure this news caught Kobe off-guard and he sent his hand through some glass.

It's an interesting theory, but I don't see who benefits from the conspiracy besides worthless sportwriters, who don't have the creativity to write about anything else in the NBA.

    Great topic TB76,

These two future Hall of Famers don't have to prove anything to each other. I feel they both realize that they are great players, and together when they play, they could do some incredible things in Los Angeles. I'm just tired when the both of them cause so much drama saying who the leader is. To me, it doesn't matter about that. They should play like a team and help the Lakers win ballgames, besides going off on one another. That's how you lose team chemistry. And for the injury bug that has plagued us for sometime now: I think Kobe's injury was more legit because as fans saw, he was still clutching that shoulder when he returned for that Utah game, and that accident in his garage is something that happens. Just an accident. However, Shaq to miss 12 games because of a minor calf strain makes me wonder if this guy is really serious or not to bring back the championship to Los Angeles.

I put my head through a window once...so I guess accidents do happen...but I honestly think Kobe got upset and hit something like Shapecity said. So either he's an idiot, or he's real clumsy (like myself [IMG] )

yeah, when i first heard about kobe "accidentally" putting his hand through a window while moving boxes i was immediately skeptical. i don't think a highly athletic human being puts his hand through a window accidentally. i figured he was really pissed for some reason and punched a window. i like the theory that he was trying to make shaq play by himself too, but i don't think that's too likely.

LOL, please explain how you put your head through glass? [IMG]

I honestly can't really figure a way how you could put your hand through a glass window, though accidents do happen. But I also agree with what shape said, I was thinking this the day I heard about it, that he may have done it out of frustration, I was actually about to make a topic about this today, but not really about a "Laker Conspiracy". Not a good way to take on frustration though, we need you Kobe.

So you're clumsy and you couldn't control yourself from falling into glass? [IMG]

Shaq's recent suspension contributes to my theory. Kobe and Shaq are both trying to prove their respective points at expense of their team.

I don't think there is a Laker conspiracy. I have seen numerous pics of Shaq and Kobe laughing and stuff, and unless they are acting, they seem okay. Remember, their relationship doesn't have to be a friendly one, just as long as they play well together.

i thought last season's struggle was just a fake drama where they tried to make it more interesting that they weren't the lock as the champions again in the season (so fans would tune to their TV more)... but of course they didn't win the championship after a real drama hit them: real injuries to fox and kobe's shoulder...

But this season... i'm not sure if it is another drama or conspiracy, remember kobe-shaq soap before this season even began? i really think it was only a fake one... shaq just trying to take kobe's court case attention away from the media and public... i don't think it was real because both Kobe and Shaq were too mature people at this stage to disrespect malone and payton coming to the team, sacrificing big money on purpose to just win championship with them... so i don't think conspiracies exist this season in Lakerland... if it does exist, kobe and shaq should be ashamed for thinking their individual things ahead of the team thing...

Not really, Shaq said what he felt after the game, that was in no way trying to prove a point to Kobe or the organization. Just for the record, Lakers team practice was held at Shaq's today. [IMG]

well why would you deny something like that... like is he assuming that people are thinking that? because what people assume is what they think is true... like denying that just makes hims seem a bit more suspicious... sorryif this post was confusing, but i can;t elaborate otherwise i would confuse you all more even more.
