NBA scouts have been watching 6-10 Chinese PF Mo Ke, a pretty good shooter who moves well and can pass the ball. Mo is 21 and automatically draft eligible this year, but he plays for Bayi, the official team of the Chinese army. That happens to be the team that C Wang Zhizhi played for before he skipped out on returning to China and his army duties in the summer of 2002.

Another name to watch for the upcoming draft is 7-1 SG Ivan Chiriaev (yes, he is a shooting guard), a Russian currently playing at St. Thomas Aquinas High outside Toronto.

i dont know. darko has been pretty damn impressive this season. and yao ming has just completely dominated the nba and took it to a whole new level since he's been there. phew. i dont think we can handle anymore of those so awesome they just have to be drafted foreign players.

    0.9PPG
    0.7RPG
    .333FG%
    .286FT%
That in 15 games... Damn, he was pretty impressive this season, don't you guys think? [IMG]

What have you been smoking? Back to topic, Mo Ke may end up useless like Wang Zhi-Zhi and Meengke Bateer. I think chinese player will have to be ovverrated to do good as Yao now who is overrated.

a 7-1 shooting guard, that would be a nice assett to a team...

I've seen Chiriaev play and trust me, his play doesn't stand out amongst CANADIAN PLAYERS. He's too slow to play shooting guard and doesn't handle very well. Word is that he's now trying to gain bulk and make the transition to a post player if he has to in the NBA. Mo Ke's height makes him intriguing, but I wouldn't pick this guy anywhere in the first round.

Werd about Ivan...If you look @ the Ivan post...alot of ppl have been over hyping him...LIKE MAD. I live in his St. Thomas Town...and all the ball players are so impresed with his height and hype they dont realize mediocre he is. I really hope that he opts out of the Draft and goes to the Unviersityies hhe was offered scholarships to to develop his game. He wants to help his family, but he doesnt wanna end up to be another Carl English

Haha. No matter how much he is overhyped he is, he still won't go undrafted. Maybe he'll end up like Marciej Lampe: invited to the green room, gets picked in the 2nd round.

A 7'1" shooting guard... sounds kinda like Dirk Nowitzki, to me.

Darko has those stats because they dont let him play that much. I guess they are waiting for him to develop.

Anybody catch how many Brazilian natives might be in the coming draft? Splitter, Varejao, Araujo, Huertas. Anybody heard anyhting of them? I'm pretty happy with Barbosa myself.

By the way Lampe is only 19 and it takes an athletic freak like James or Stoudemire to overcome that. Some people have talent but shouldn't be drafted so young.
