No love for Vince in LA <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">As the top vote getter for the 2004 All-Star Game you think Hollywood would roll out the red carpet for Vince Carter. But the Toronto Raptors guard says he had a difficult time enjoying the nightlife which is such a big part of the All-Star weekend for the players. "I got turned away at three parties so I just called it a day," said Carter, who was named starting guard for the East after receiving more votes than any other player 2.12 million. "I still got love for Los Angeles, they just don't want me in their clubs." </div> More...
wtf??? its the players who throw the nights at the clubs...so i guess some players are snubbing vince. thats pretty lame imo
This is just stupid, getting turned away from parties and one of them was a party at the Playboy mansion. Is Vince getting turned down to parties because he got too many votes?
Jealousy certainly played a huge part. The players probably alienated him after all the things he said about the starting spot last year.
Wow...i'm a little confused here. Wait, not confused....EXTREMELY PISSED that Vince hardly got any playing time in the all-star game. Why? Why did that happen? He had a spectacular first quarter, then from there on saw almost NO action for the rest of the game. He didn't look tired or hurt at all on the bench. So WHAT THE<font color="red">edit</font> was going through Carlisle's thick skull???? I as a Torontonian and dedicated Raptor fan was very concerned by this perdicament because the last time i checked...the leading vote getter for the past how many seasons and starter on the East team should be given MUCH more playing time than only 16 minutes. 4 reserves received more playing time than him and one received the same. By looking at the 1st quarter, i really thought he had a good shot at getting the MVP, but for some reason, he is completely shut out of having any hope to achieve that. Please feel free to share opinions. <font color="red">Never, ever come into my forum and post like this again. I suggest you read the guidelines, stop the profanity.</font>

It got embarrasing when the announcer had to go over to Vince and tell him that he was the leading vote-getter and that Carter should demand playing time. I'm wondering if it had more to do with the fact that in the non-season, GG had turned down an offer to Rick Carlisle to coach the Raps. If that had anything to do with it, that is BS, as you know KO was chosen instead. Of course, Jermaine O'Neal played to his hearts content and Ron Artest got enough love. That was BS. Vince had such an amazing first quarter. Spoken no better than my man above v_carter15

But despite that he still had enough time earlier in the 4th to put vince in the game and possibly make a few shots. It really looked like they just used vince as a crowd pleaser in the first half and basically forgot about him when they thought the game was getting serious.
Yea i dont get it either.. TMac has no clutch either to have him in, if u want to make a last second shot, the best ppl to do it are AI and Carter, or Kidd, but C'mon that was so obvious that Carter got lil respect from that <font color="red">Edit</font>Carlisle
Well...hopefully this might get Carter more energized and determined to prove all of his haters wrong for the remainder of the season. Speaking of which, someone should unsticky the Supersonics game thread and post a new one for the game on Tuesday vs. the Bulls.
"I got turned away at three parties so I just called it a day," said Carter aw man now i kina feel bad for the guy, i mean he didnt do anything wrong to get turned away from parties... i agree he shoulda gotten way more time cause he was amazing in the beginning
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Streetball2k3:</div><div class="quote_post">WHAT THE HELL. Carlisle IS A RETARD. But getting denied from 3 parties. THATS JUST BS. L.A is Jealous</div> Don't even think about hating on L.A. man....Like Pac said, "To live and die in L.A., its the place to be"

I would much rather have Tmac taking a game winning shot than Vince, that post above just defined biased. Don't you realize that Carter is no where close to the player he was 3 years ago?
i think carter is a bit overrated, like thefranchise3 said carter is not even close 2 where he was b4 nearly getting the raptors to the eastern conference finals. but it is sad that carter got turned away from 3 parties...

Now Vince is just as a regular player like Iverson and McGrady, so even though he's not way better than them, he's about equal.. i dont get it, im sure if Carter took the last shot and missed, it'd be all over the papers and everyone would bash carter. If McGrady misses, ppl would say "oh well". MJ was never consistent either, only when it counts he will be. Yes i do know what clutch means, makin the shot when it counts the most say in the last couple seconds before the game is over. Why would you want Tmac to take the shot at the end? He may be consistent but definitely not clutch. Clutch should account for a teams winning at least once in a while, but the Magic are plain awful.
The bottom line is that the players in the NBA don't have a lot of respect for Vince, much like the refs Vince has a lot of work to do if he wants to be respected in the league, he has a bad reputation...........
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting K Bomber:</div><div class="quote_post">The bottom line is that the players in the NBA don't have a lot of respect for Vince, much like the refs Vince has a lot of work to do if he wants to be respected in the league, he has a bad reputation...........</div> Funny thing is he was argueably the most loved player in the league for not only his dunks but his skill, the same skill that lead the raptors to beat the knicks as the underdogs and have one of the best playoff series with the sixers the league has seen in a while. But once those injuries happened it went down the drain. I feel sorry for vince in one way but in another I hope he takes all this criticism and the reality of LA's hate towards him as motivation. I know the guy has the skill, he just needs to use it to the best of his ability. The guy needs to watch some tapes of himself back in the day when he didn't fear anybody under the basket and finally admit he has flaws and work his butt off to fix them. Seriously every time I saw vince questioned about his defence he'd ride it off and say he's fine in that aspect. There's alot of players around this league that most likely wish they could have half the natural talent vince possesses which is why some dont respect him considering it doesn't always look like he uses it to its full potencial. ~_~

It's funny. There are some Toronto fans here that are crying because Vince Carter didn't get enough playing time in the All-Star game. And since when did the All-Star game become important to the players? It's just a simple exhibition game and a attraction to the fans.
