I'm sure a lot of older guys remember this...I've only seen the highlights....

In the early 80's, there was a playoff game with the Lakers playing against the Mavericks...

The Lakers were up by one with 10 or so seconds left on the clock...The Mavs were in a timeout, and drawing up a play but apparently Derek Harper (the mavs PG at the time) had his head in the clouds....so anyways, they inbound the ball to Harper....With Magic defending him ferociously, Harper just dribbled, and dribbled.....and dribbled...he ended up dribbling out the clock because apparently, Harper thought the Mavs were up by one....Lakers win

bringing this thread back is damn obnoxious, but i just had to add ricky davis latest stunt to the list of bloopers. will this guy ever learn? not only he blows a wide opendunk by trying to go between the legs, he gets a rebound -mainly because no lakers are around him - and then he goes for a windmill! if he had blown the second dunk as well, he'd have to start wearing a red clown's nose in games. i'm still laughing every time i look at the highlight.

I've got a good one. Earlier this season during a Rockets game (can't remember who they were playing), a Rocket was fouled and he was going to shoot two. I think there might have been a timeout taken before the free throws. After shooting the first one, the opposite team goes for a rebound. No one on the court seems to notice that only one shot was attempted. Not even the refs! Eventually, when the other team brought the ball down the court, Coach Van Gundy got the refs attention and told him another free throw needed to be taken. That was weird.

you could get many rebounds that way, just stand and miss untill someone tries to stop you.

of course, your FG% will drop

I remember in the 2001 WCF, David Robinson got 2 fouls in like 3-5 seconds. He picked up a personal foul, and then went on to hound the ref. While he was talking to one ref, the other team quickly inbounded the ball and Robinson, not really thinking and unprepared, picked up a 2nd foul just a second later! HAHAHA!!!

This past years playoffs, The Mavs were down by 2, when they called a time out Dirk was inbounding the ball to Nash, but instead he threw it to Don Nelson, talk about bad timing.

something that i remember is when dikembe mutumbo was still on the nuggets, he always did his little finger tick/wave/whatever towards the crowd whenever he blocked a shot. and once back in the day they were playing the bulls at chicago when mutumbo blocked a shot of scottie pippens and then turned to the crowd right after, while still under the basket, and started to do his finger taunt. but he didnt realize that scottie got it right back after the block and scottie just slammed it right on him in the middle of his taunt. that was the last time i saw dikembe do the finger taunt

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Purple N Gold:</div><div class="quote_post">Not a big one, but this is the only thing I could think of right now. Last year, when Rafer Alston was on the Raps(think they were playing the Bucks), he thought he was still in AND1 as he pulled up the court in the middle of doing some move he just jumped up in the air and came right back down, travel! Funny stuff. [IMG]</div>
[IMG] Haha, I can imagine that. Skip's a cool guy, it was probably hard making the transition from AND1 to NBA, but if he continues to play like he did last night, he'll be just fine. As for me, this is my first year really keeping up with the NBA, so I have yet to see any live "bloopers," but I have seen a few funny things. How about Brad Miller, a near 7 footer getting his 18-footer blocked by Eric Snow, who is what, 6'3"? It was pretty funny, Vlade Divac continuously got onto Miller about that throughout the whole game.

[IMG] That was pretty embarassing for Brad. But yesterday, Shawn Marion losing the ball in a open lane while trying to throw down a tomahawk. I never thought that was possible.
