<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Ray Allen figured for sure he'd be a long shot to make the All-Star team after missing the first 25 games this season with a hurt right ankle. That's why when the Seattle SuperSonics' guard got word Tuesday that he's headed to Los Angeles for the NBA's Feb. 15 showcase event -- his fourth All-Star selection -- he had a little fun when his mother called. "My mom called and said, 'Did you make it?" Allen said before the Sonics played the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night. "I said no. She said, 'I don't care about anybody else in the NBA. You're still an All-Star.' I said, 'Mom, I made it!' and she screamed."</div> Full Story.
No surprise here. Great guy, great player. My favorite purely offensive player in the league. It's real great that he was chosen especially since he was injured and didn't get to play that much for the year. Congrats Jesus, well deserved induction and choice by the coach. I still wish Brand, Odom and Randolph made the game though.
I am surprised he made it. He was gone the beginning of the season so I thought that Anthony, Nash, Finley(yah right, when is his respect every going to come?), Elton Brand(same thing as Allen though) would have made it instead. Not a bad choice at all but I'm kind of surprised
Yo MJ, gonna say that every post? It seems all that comparison to Vince Carter paid off. Even after being injured, he comes back and wrecks shop on everybody and their teams, and he can do that because the kid has serious skills. I'm very, very satisfied with him making the team as a reserve.
Ray really deserves to be in the all-stars even if he didn't play the first 25 games because he is a really great player.Even after a injury he still comes back even better.
Very hot topic this, not as much as LeBron's snub but still quite debatable. I've seen what an impact he's had on Seattle since getting back, both on and off the court. He is the best guard in the West not named KObe (though he has a great record against him) and compares favourably to Cassell. Why pick a guy by default just cos he's played more games? Ray has been phenomenal this season, I'm extremely happy for him.
