Laker fans always say they are going to win the championship but once they start losing they will never say the team is bad they make excuses
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Laker_Fever_834:</div><div class="quote_post">And is Philadelphia something without Allen Iverson? </div> I never said they were. If they play up to potental and beat a team without Allen, then yes they're good. But if they play without him and get blown out then they're horrible.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CANT STOP ME:</div><div class="quote_post">Laker fans always say they are going to win the championship but once they start losing they will never say the team is bad they make excuses</div> We don't always say we're going to win the title, we just expect to win.
you may have your head on straight laker_fever but i think what they mean is most laker fans around the country and on here are just flat out in la la land. Every time u speak to them the lakers are the rulers of the world no matter what and even when the lakers lose or don't win a championship there;s some kinda "reason" or "excuse" as to why and it's not the lakers fault, it's usually the refs or the NBA management or some paridox in the universe. Great team but some laker fans are out in deep left field. Remember my key word however "some".

Of course I expect my team to make it every year by the depth and experience we have, but I also look out for the other great teams in the West. Like Sacramento, Minnesota, San Antonio, and Dallas. (If I missed another powerful team I apologize. :mrgreen If the Lakers don't win the title this year, I won't make excuses. We got our asses handed to us last year. And with the inconsistency of last night's loss, and the injuries playing a big factor this season, we could be in big trouble.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CANT STOP ME:</div><div class="quote_post">I think this loss shows all you laker fans that you will not win the championship maybe even the playoffs admit it the lakers are some trash Can you say 94-95 Bulls?</div> Oh, you're right, the Lakers are a terrible team. They'll be lucky to win another five games the entire season. Complete trash....I'll be the first one to admit that they played with little or no effort last night in that loss, but pull your head out before you make another comment like that. You're talking s**t when the Lakers are playing without Malone, Bryant, and Payton! Very astute. No kidding the Lakers are going to struggle without three of their top four players! Take Iverson off the Sixers and they challenge for the league's worst record, take T-Mac off the Magic...er...nevermind, the Wolves without KG and Cassell, the Spurs without Duncan and Ginobili, get the picture??? They just played a bad game last night, Shaq couldn't hit the side of a barn, and nobody could hit an open jumper to save their lives. Remember last year, the Lakers started out terribly, looking like they might even miss the playoffs entirely, and what happened?? They came one Robert Horry three pointer away from beating the eventual world champion Spurs. Keep doubting this team, hating on them, whatever you want to call it. But when playoff time comes, Malone is back, and the rest of the squad is healthy, sit back and enjoy watching the Lakers make their run to another title. I'm not by any means a bandwagon Laker fan, nor am I making excuses for this team, but I can't stand when people come out the woodwork to blast this team whenever they play a bad game. Franchises don't win 13 championships and contend on a yearly basis becuase they're "trash", so do us all a favor and keep your uninformed opinions to yourself. * PS - My bad on the Joey Crawford thing, I forgot that Javie was the one who threw him out against Dallas. Both of those guys are known for having an extremely red a**.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting kvh4fan:</div><div class="quote_post">The game showed that the Lakers are nothing without their stars.</div> Worst statement in the thread. Every team in this league is nothing without their star(s). But other than that, yeah missisng the best guard in the league is nothing much, easy to replace right? And let's be real here, Sixers are one of the worst teams in the league without Iverson.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AIFan:</div><div class="quote_post">Neither Kobe nor GP are the best at their position in the league</div> Did I ever say GP was still the best at his position? He's the best at his position on this team, and that's all that matters. Just his presence on the court could have changed the whole game around, he controls the offense, and brings a whole lot of leadership to the table, as well as stat production. Also, I would like to know, why do people act like it's the best thing in the world for beating the Lakers? LOL, sure enjoy your win, but that means nothing. I love Iverson and give Philly credit, but you fans should be more worried about where you are in the standings more than a statement. And BTW, Kobe is the best 2 guard in the league.
I've never seen a fan of a team that beat the Lakers so proud. You guys act like this game was everything, and now the Lakers suck cause we lost to A.I.? Iverson had a great game, and Robinson played well and they definitely deserved the win, no one ever questioned that. You guys call it "making excuses" when we say that we're missing Kobe, G.P. and karl, but I don't see how that's an excuse. You could call it an excuse if we're missing one of them and we blamed a loss on that, but three of your best 4 players? Do you guys think the Wolves could win even 10 games if they didnt have Garnett, Spree, and Cassell? Missing one of your main players is bad enough, THREE STARTERS AT ONCE IS NOT CALLED MAKING EXCUSES. I really can't believe you guys are so proud of beating us ON YOUR OWN COURT with so many of our guys missing. BTW on top of all that we lost, we also are playing without Cook and Rush. Trust me, missing 5 guys who all actually minutes makes a difference in games. I didn't make any "excuses" for this loss, but you guys are getting rediculous.
To tell you the truth, I was happy, but I am more worried about our overall play for the rest of the season. We beat the Lakers with no GP, great. Its a good thing, I'm happy but its not something to party about. People get happy when they beat the LAkers because they are basically the team to beat, you should take that as respect. As for the Philly fans, I don't know why you guys are getting so happy, its a win over the LAkers, 1 win. Just take the win, celebrate a little and move on. We need to concentrate on our season and what our team needs when we face other powerful teams.
